I've mentioned my lumpy bum and all I get is "you poor thing" I guess if that's as bad as it gets it's not so bad, but I'm sure it's very upsetting for your daughter being so young Spielgal. What really surprises me with the Lanreotide is that there is only one supplier that I've been told by the Pharmacist that imports the drug from France (I think) to Australia.last year we had a situation where there were no supplies in Australia at all, and we had to wait until fresh stock arrived into the country, just as well mine isn't a life threating disease but the pharmacist told me he was waiting on supply for a patient that it was a matter of life or death.
Quite scary really.

I haven't started yet. My endo has been researching it, and his nurse says they are checking with insurance on pegvisomant. I think he mentioned once a day. My research says is can go in thighs, abdomen, or arm and uses subq (insulin) needles. That sounds a lot better than the sandostatin ones. However, at the advice of my neurosurgeon I am getting a second opinion from an endo at UTSouthwestern, hopefully next week. He is supposed to be doing trials on something new. I'll let you know what I find out.

I am on Somatuline (Lanreotide) and get the lumpy bum too. Sometimes the lumps are itchy too (like a big mosquito bite). The lumps can take a couple of months to subside so I just make sure my doctor doesn't inject near a lump. My side effects have subsided but include feeling slightly nauseous and very tired a couple of hours after the injection. I am lucky that my manager lets me work from home on injection day. I also get an upset stomach the next day.

I am on Somatuline Autogel. 120 mg. The first injection was great. When I did the second one I think I injured a muscle and for three weeks it caused a lot of pain each time I stood up.

The strange thing about Somalutine is that although it is supposed to be self-injectable, there are no instructions on how to inject it in the box. This is really strange, given the price they charge for this medication.

same as jokey really apart from the toilet became my friend for the first couple of months and stomach cramp but they have all gone now and im feeling good most days. they site where the injection is itches sometimes and there is a lump but thats normal as it makes a kinda pouch to settle in for the month to slowly release what it needs to. i do get symptoms crawling back near the end off the month but i can tell its wearing off. but as my levels are now normal im not complaining too much. oh and right after i have tinjection i feel like ive taken speed. i get so hyoer and my mouth cant stop ...lol yeah i know you think that already!! but i do i go so hyper and have so much energy to burn off. but when that happens is when i feel sick for the rest of the day. but just one day, thats not all that bad really. xxx hope it makes you feel better bro i really do have my fingers crossed x forst two months are hard but keep with it if you can big hugs xx

Oh when I read about you going hyper and you mouth going.I so remember the first largest dose straight away I couldnt stop bouncing bit like my avatar but double the speed so funny had to got to work in this customers house couldnt shut up everyone keep going what are you on Drugs I kept saying and it made me worse couldnt stop laughing two hours never lived it down yet.I will add been normal since ROFLMAO
