Im 5ft9 its interesting not long ago there was a survey done and asked did I mind answering questions and because having two children who are close in age nineteen months they did height weight discussed what they ate lifestyle eg sports.Both my children were above the average height for their age range they were above the average height of an adult.

5'6 I bet I'm the shortest guy with acromegaly on this site. When my endo diagnosed me I said: Like Andre the Giant! Are you !@#$%^& with me I'm 5'6". Then he explained there was an adult version. ohhhhhhh.

I have LOST nearly an inch

I think it has something to do with that compression in the back I read about . Yesterday, I went to try on girdles to see if that would work for holding that hernia in place until this summer when I'm ready to face the knife again and OMG! I could hear and feel crackling and popping in the lumbar region of my back as I struggled with some of those torturous contraptions. One of them even had those old hook thingies (garters?) you could use to attach the old-fashioned type of nylon stockings they had in my grandmother's day before they invented pantyhose. That hernia would probably be in more danger with constant wrestling with one of those things every time I went to the bathroom and had to pull it down and then back up than if I just keep doing what I have been doing so I ain't gonna get one of them. Besides, it made things hurt that shouldn't and made flesh spill out over the top and the one with long legs made my legs bulge out at the bottom and here I was feeling pretty good about myself and losing weight before trying these things on in front of a mirror. Yuck. Anyway, I think the AcroMonster messed with my back and that's why I atually SHRUNK in height.

I think I'm about 5'7" or 8" I grew about an inch after high school. I don't mind being semi tall. What I don't like is big feet; I'm a wide 11 usually, although better after the surgery.

Noone seems to be overly tall.

I understand that gigantism is the name of our condition if it develops during the teenage, growing years. Acromegaly is the same condition but forming in adulthood, when the bones have set and so the body can't grow any taller. Subsequently, it seems unlikely that our heights would have changed through acromegaly, but please let me know if this is wrong.

I'm 5'10 by the way. An extra two inches would be nice. ;)

5'2" for most of my life...Thenin about 1997 after moving and changing doctors I measured 5 '3 1/2". I said to the nurse "noway" measure me again...she did and got the same...could have been one of those moments it should've hinted at the diagnoses...????

I am 5'4". My dad was 6', and my mom was 5', so I figure I was about normal for me. My foot size did change from size 7 1/2 as an adult, to 9 1/2 as an acro. Very annoying. One thing I have noticed is a lot of pain in the ball of my foot, which my rheumatologist said is due to bone overgrowth in the joint where my toes meet my foot.

im 5"8 which isnt too bad and my feet changed froma nice size 5 uk to now a size 8 and wide fitting. although after nearly a year on somatuline ive lost a shoe size and now down to a size 7 and sometimes if im really lucky 6 and half!!

I'm of Indian origin and am 5'10",considered to be very tall for a girl. I've always been the tallest girl in class and among my relatives.

I was tall at school and always got picked to be either Goal shooter or goal attack in netball.Oh laughing at the word anklebiters one of my oldest friends who I went to school with oh crack up she is an anklebiter and we had just been doing sports and somehow we got our PE kit mixed up and the next time we had sports she put mine on I put hers on I tell you we rolled around laughing.
