Well my chemistry says I'm OK for now without meds. A little low on testosterone, but who cares at 65? Well, anyway, I don't.
But my ankles are huge. I understand that the ends of long bones grow in acromegalics who are over the age of puberty.
One of my doctors thought I had fluid retention, but upon feeling my ankles, realized that wasn't it.
Do you have a joint or joints that are abnormally large? Perhaps even the ankles?

No, not yet on the ankles. The 'largest' joint area....not really a 'joint' is the 'mount' on my right hand extending from my wrist. It's the part on the palm side that goes to the thumb. It also hurts all of the time.
Also, from early on with the disease. there was a 'bump' on my right shoulder. It's bony & still there. I was told that it was likely bone overgrowth. It is now developing on the left, although I am told that my numbers are fine (high end of normal on IGF-1). Am still sore most of the time........
