i've been on dailystrength for almost a year. i should have joined this group a while ago as i have had acne since i was 12. my friends and i tried everything. i've done the aveeno apricot scrubs (clogged my pores). i had those medicated pads (irritated my skin and stung like crazy). the over the counter cleansers did a good job of cleaning my oily skin, but did nothing for the existing acne. my mom and i even put straight proxcide on our faces which only dried out and irritated my skin. finally, i went out on a limb and tried proactiv a couple years ago. it worked extremely well for a year or so. but the automatic shipment got expensive fast. it was $45 a shipment. and if i didn't use it daily, it would come back. proactiv even sent me a letter from a collection agency even though i had already paid them. i wrote them back with a copy of my bank statement proving the check had cleared. recently, i started using it again, and noticed it was drying out my skin. has this happened to anyone else?
i am desperate. i have had acne on my face, back, chest, and shoulders for 10 years. god willing, i will be a choir teacher. the last thing i want is to go into my first class and have my students stare at my zits. HELP!!!!!!!-fallon

A bunch of people here hate proactiv.
I've taken a more simpler and natural route, which I'm content with for now. It's not 100% effective, but it's cheaper and not as harsh. I'd rather have a lot of smaller non scarring ones than the large ones that leave scars/pigmentation.
