Having a bad skin day? Year? Life? Join the club. The most common form of acne is known as "acne vulgaris", meaning "common acne." Excessive secretion of oils from the sebaceous glands accompanies the plugging of the pores with naturally occurring dead skin cells (corneocytes) blocking hair follicles. Here you'll find how others are coping with their acne issues, plus new...
Also, I know some people with horrible diets who have perfect skin and some that eat well and still break out a lot, I think it has more so to do with hygiene and genetics than diet.
However, I feel like I can give you guidance in the right direction. The following tips should help everyone (even if just a little bit):
Firstly, be sure to drink plenty of water. Yes, I know, you've heard this before and your eyes can't help but skip to the next tip, but listen up. Coffee, sodas, juices, tea and milk do not count! You need to drink water. How much? At least 10 glasses per day, I'd say. Do not overdo it and do not force yourself to drink excessively, but every time you get thirsty, just have a glass. It's that simple.
Limit your sugar intake and do not eat too much fried food. I would suggest cutting off dairy products completely. (I speak from personal experience, it doesn't mean that it's going to work for everyone, but chances are that it will).
Last but certainly not least, shower daily but not under steaming hot water! This is crucial. The temperature of the water should be comfortably warm, but never too hot. Another thing you can do is invest in a pair of loofah gloves and exfoliate your face in the shower. This should be a daily process, however, don't scrub too hard or you may irritate your skin even more.
Eat healthy meals everyday. Lots of fruit and vegetables are essential when it comes to fighting acne. Broccoli, zucchini and cauliflower are not liked by many, but trust me, they work wonders.
And don't forget the water! I cannot stress this enough.
If you follow these tips, there's a good chance that you will have much better skin by the end of four weeks. Good luck and stay strong!
