I have never been on accutane, but my doctor has put me on minocycline last year and I was on it for about 6 months, then i came off it and was able to stay off of it for another 8 months after that and still be clear. But, now She just put me back on it again because i am breaking out again (in a different area, my neck and jawline), So, I have been taking it for 4 days now and hopefully it will kick in again. How long did it take u to have the mino start working, and when did it stop working for you??? Also, You are able to go on another round of accutane to keep you clear for another year. It is normal to have it come back from time to time, you just have to catch it before it gets out of control. So go to the derm! I know how it feels to be self concious about it though. I literally stay in the house for days on end until it gets decent enough to leave the house. It really tears me down emotionally. I have panic attacks just looking in the mirror sometimes. It seems like no one understands.
It does seem like no one understands.
Don't stay in the house!! You need to go out and live life. It's too short to be spent in hiding. :)
Have you ever noticed that like clusters of bumps appear at night?? Like Im talking mostly on the forhead.
Im thinking this could be an allergic reaction to something That im eating. For days, I only at raw fruits and veggies, and when I ate some baked beans, chicken and pineapple yesterday, Bam, the bumps appeared.
I have been on Roaccutane (English version of Accutane I think) twice!! The first time my skin cleared up just as you said that yours had done. Just as I was getting used to having clearer skin, it came back after about a year and a half.
I understand how you feel, thinking you have found a miracle cure and then bam it comes back to haunt you!
I would say, if you have a chance of another lot of Accutane I would take it!! My second lot cleared my skin up and I have seen no signs of it coming back for 3 years now!
Fingers crossed. Good luck x
HDawson - I've got an appointment with the dermatologist next week, so I'm hoping I go on a second round of Accutane. I'm so glad to hear that after your second round, you've been clear for so long!! Gives me some hope! :)
