Totally urine and bowel incontinent
DiaperedForLife
I'm a 27 year old male, after I got into a four wheeler accident the nerves in my lower back got massively damaged. Now I'm totally incontinent. I don't feel it until I'm wet or having a bowel movement. I'm embarrassed, I feel ashamed and don't want to even leave the house most days. Does anyone have any tips for the day to day life of wearing diapers 24/7? Thank you for listening, I needed this group.

I have toys. So the ones I have not used or need any more, are gone in the trash. One of my toys is just a regular hand held massager with an attachment. The other is a real insertable toy. This morning I ordered a new toy with attachments. It is small and has a brush like attachment and the other looks like a rose with a tiny tongue. I'll get it in about 2 weeks. Rechargable and...

I can't believe this has gone on this long. So I don't have much hope of getting a tech job, but I saw an educational job that I thought might be really good. It would have been working at a university supporting high school students who are taking college classes. I did a mock interview with a friend and prepared extensively. It was at the university that I graduated from. I was very excited...

I have bowel care on alternate mornings by two nurses. This is basically manual removal of faeces, not pleasant for them or me, but it has worked quite well so far.
I wear a pad inside mesh fixation pants which on the whole, works quite well. It is changed each morning. Occasionally I have accidents and it needs to be changed in between, but these are very infrequent - no more than once or twice a year.
Good luck. I hope your nerves regenerate so that you won't have this problem for long.
Tips: Find a product you have total confidence in. Just treat them as your underwear. Carry a spare and some wet wipes. I also have a small tube of nappy rash cream. I know I am lucky to only have bladder problems but don't be ashamed, you have nothing to be ashamed about; you were injured in a vehicle accident. Don't let this hold you back. Your real friends will be supportive and you have this group to share things with. Good luck,
