i was raped about a year ago is sex really as imoprtant as everyone make it seem in a realtionship? i dont want to be in a reationship cause they will except sex. i just cant deal with the worry in the back of my mind so. ill be alone i personally dont think sex is imortant at all . unless ur married and u want kids but whatever.tell me what u think

First, I'd like to ask you if you have had therapy to deal with the rape,if not I think it would be a good idea to so since such acts of violence towards a person tend to have lasting effects if not properly treated. I am merely asking out of concern, that's all.

Second, I'd like to tell you I am the wrong person to ask because I agree with you. Sex is not at all important to me, I view it as an intrusion on my valuable time and I could get what I need from affection. If I never have sex in my life, I'd be just fine.

Now the reality is quite different, this society is sex obsessed but there are others out there who are asexual, I've met them. Asexual meaning that they have no sex with others, not even for copulation.

So if that was what you were looking for, others who do not care to have sex ever, then an asexual group would be something to look into and you'd be able to have a mere platonic relationship if that was what you desired.

having sex with someone should not come with a relationship. i was with someone for 10 years and we never did it. sex isnt important unless your a meat head lol :P

but seriously if YOU DONT WANT TO then the guy should be more than happy to respect you

Sex is important. I discovered it by 30. when woman turns 30 or has first child hormons change and a lot of women go crazy over it and some even end up in mental hospital for a while over sexual problems. I did not think that sex is that important when I was younger and chose the husband based on understanding and emotional compatibility. We lived 7 years fine, than my hormons changed and I not only cheated on him multiple times but could not see him anymore because he could not fulfill my sexual needs at the same time I loved him like friend (we spend good times together before whole hormone thing). I am the person with high self control but at that point I could not do anything with it. So since i could not leave husband and could not live without sex I needed i ended up in mental hospital for a while (trying to recover from it for 8 months and still do not know what to do. I want return to husband and have calm happy life like we had before but i do not know what my head and body will do because it came to the point when I was screaming and falling on the ground as soon as I seen my husband, and it was horror for 8 months. I am scared that if I will return to him I might have nerves outbreak again and die. Yet, I do not imagine my life without my husband, do not have idea what to do.
