Abstinence & Celibacy Support Group
The pressures of sex from peers, the media and culture can be overwhelming, but you are in total control of your body and celibacy is a choice that many are making. Find sanctuary with people who are choosing to abstain without fear of judgment.

Religion based on writings composed 2,000 - 5,000 years ago is the basis for much of the emotional dysfunction that people face.
There is no sin. Your purpose here in this life is to create, to express and to experience. Nothing is right or wrong except when you say so.
Use your mind, free yourself of the ancient confusion and enjoy being human. Masturbation for both sexes is absolutely alright.

I do not believe that masturbation is a sin. Please read. The guilt is something learned from your parents or society and passed on to you. You can learn to "let it go" and not have all of the hang ups. You know when you have a child you will probably catch them freely masturbating. In fact in counseling i learned that it is normal for children to explore their bodies. I think it's how the parents react that determines the outcome of that. So when my son started using a beaded neckless as anal beads at the age of 5 in front of me and his sister. we just laughed and the next day it was like it never happened. He has never again tried that. My father on the other hand, beat my brother when he was 13 for having playboys and taking care of his needs. I think that was wrong. I think it's more important to be concerned with loving your neighbor and what have you done for your fellow man when you die than did you play with yourself.
So if it feels good than do it....within reason of course
If you can't do it let her help you..ya just never know you may both experience and learn something very beautiful....
Good luck
I must confess MsHoneyB made me laugh when she wrote "stop beating yourself up" lol.
I am a lifelong celibate in my early 50's. Never married, cause God never brought Mr. Spouse. I prayed for a mate from ages 18 to 45. At age 45, I prayed for the Gift of Singleness (which I believe is zero desire for sexual intimacy with anyone else). That came recently. Now, I no longer desire marriage. I have finally been given contented singlehood.
Now, about masturbation. I have masturbated from age 18, and still do occasionally. I have had a hysterectomy, and my ovaries were also taken. So, I shouldn't have any sex drive according to my surgery. But I still do...occasionally.
Long ago, I prayed intensely and ardently to our Lord about my dilemma, and over the years, got what I believe was God given instruction. Don't use porn to stimulate yourself. Don't use sex toys. Don't dress sexy to turn yourself on. Don't use any pictures of people...not even strangers. Don't lust after anyone.
I felt sinful when I did do all of the above. But when I just closed my eyes and massaged...release occurred. And I felt a calm engulf me. I'm trying to be and stay clean with my words. I believe the sin is trying to mimic the activity that would occur between two people. When M is used for self comfort, then I don't believe it is sin. It is a natural stress buster and relaxer. And I include my whole body, not just the hot zone. Pray and ask God...and obey if He says, No.
I'm sure there are lots of people who will disagree with me. That's okay. When I was younger, I used this gift more. Now, in middle age, I don't need it very often. But when I do, I follow my "rules" and sleep better. I also try not to watch too much romance stuff on TV and don't read romance novels...or sexually charged media.
PS: It was always married people who told me it was sinful.

My dear mother tried to have me placed in reform school.
Historically speaking, if we are to look into radical religious dogma we find interestingly enough that one way to control a population is to make something that is a natural function as unnatural and forbidden which leads that population to behave in bizarre and sometimes violent ways.
Let's take an example, radical Islam, not only can the men not masturbate but the women need to be subjugated in the most repressive manner. So what happens? These people have no choice but to channel their natural impulses by either killing or killing themselves. It is a psychological fact that radical religions do more harm than good.
But I digress, I did not write the above to slam any religion but to say that sometimes we need to see where to draw the line to keep our mental health. You speak that you personally cannot masturbate without lusting, that you need pornography push you over the edge, so to speak.
I had a porn addiction for decades and believed it too, I am here to tell you that pornography is a most unhealthy distraction at best, and that if you were to simply get to know your body without it, you'd be better off.
I do not consider lust a sin but I consider it a lack of respect towards a person, desire would be to me more acceptable. As for spill the seed, I think that is a tad outdated, as it has shown that young men can spill their seed in the sleep.
Women have been bearing the brunt of sexual repression for centuries, since the world began and I, personally think that it is because of that repression that we see the rampant examples of sexuality gone amok.
I remember a friend of mine, a girl, by the way, said it very well, she was Catholic, "Every day we are told about masturbation, fornication, day in and day out, Why the mere words makes you wanna go out there a do it til the cows come home. Enough already."
After a recovered from the porn addiction and I have been sober for 4 years, I had to do a soul search about these pesky sex issues and I discovered, two things:
1) I do not have to have sex with another person ever again. It was never a need nor will it ever be.
2) Masturbation is an option, not unhealthy or sinful but merely a way to express my being another way, not because I feel randy or lusting. Since it is a preference, I do it very seldom.
I did ask for guidance and I went within for it and after those two major discoveries I have been very balanced and happy. I was shown that my erroneous beliefs about sex and my own self were the root of my problems with my sexuality.
Last but not least, pornography would not exist if religion had not made sex a forbidden issue. There would be no reason for salacious material in a society that is not sexually repressed. It would not work because the human body and mind would not find anything remotely attractive in something it sees everyday.
Hope this helps,
Wolf
