aa friends Community Group
Welcome. If you come to visit for the first time and have some questions feel free to ask. PM someone if you like but don't stay a stranger. We were all in the pit. We know a way out. No condemnation and no hammers. Just ask and prepare to make a load of friends.
I also worry because I have custody of my kids. I do not want to give my ex any cannon fodder whatsoever should she decide to use it.
For now, I am doing all right I think w/o it, but I will do what I need to do as it comes.
Also - for those who are concerned about being seen going to AA meetings - when I tell people I'm sober I receive nothing but respect. Getting sober is nothing to be ashamed of.
Today felt different. I felt relieved to be there, and I collected a bunch of numbers and asked when I could call. Everyone said "any time." I was afraid that the good mood I was in afterward was bad, like why wasn't I a ball of despair like last time, but I just felt surrounded by warmth today and I feel like I'm doing the right thing.
My only worry is that the group I went to today doesn't meet tomorrow, so I will have to go somewhere else tomorrow. I think I'll call one or a few of the numbers and maybe see if I can go to one of their meetings?
