A place to share your life without fear of judgment. Community Group
I want a place for friends to meet up and share what is going on in their lives, good or bad. Without judgement and hopefully a lot of laughter.

Hi I'm new here and I'm looking to vent a bit.. I hope I came to the right place.
I've been with this guy for almost 5 months. We're very happy together and we trust each other. However, I have this habit of over thinking everything from the slightest thing. Usually it happens with things related to him (since he's always on my mind and I'm always talking to (and about) him but it also happens with friends. For example when he doesn't start chat conversations with me and let's me start them, and he does this more than once I start thinking of all the possibilities. Or like the fact that he does start conversations with a close friend of ours and they talk about personal stuff too (mostly about her). With this same friend though, I worry that maybe sometimes I annoy her from the way she behaves, and sometimes I wonder if being open to her completely is actually a good idea. That is another (bad?) habit I have, of opening up to people. That's how I get close to them. And then I start doubting it later on in the friendship... Doubting if it actually was a good idea. I'm also worried that if I open up to my boyfriend about this, I'll end up annoying him and I don't want that. He's not the jealous type. He trusts me. I do too but somehow I worry about everything and over think everything. I don't know what to do.

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

You've been with him for 5 months so the relationship is still a little new and it's natural to get a few little doubts.
Have you got lots of other things going on with your life so your relationship isnt your whole life if that makes sense? Don't make him your everything.
Give yourself other things to think about. Get involved with outside interests.
Make a note of when you self-doubt/overthink and try to rationalize it.
For example: I'm walking around the mall and i see someone i know, i nod, say "hi" and they blank me : (
I could think.. did i upset her? Is she annoyed with me? Have i done something wrong?
And then have them thoughts going round and round in my head all day.
OR, i could think ...She's so busy thinking about what she's got to get, she's not seen me. She is worried about something, she's having a bad day, she's worried about an appointment she's got later, she had a row with her bf earlier etc etc etc....
If you practice this, over time it gets easier to brush thoughts off and get on with your day.
Try not to think of what could go wrong, think about what could go right!
