To me, old is a term that is made up to make others feel bad. To my son, I am very old... to my mom, I’m still young. I have referred to anyone younger than myself as a “kid” or “jr”.. ( most of the time those terms are used for young adults at fast food, or stores who have a chip on their shoulder).
If I’m talking about someone who is my folks age they’re “geezers”... but only if I know them...( geezer day at the fair is senior day..)

Young, old, kids, even baby... is only a term that others use to joke about others.. maybe in a mean way, or joking.

I understand the concerns, I worried about that when I was younger... now I look back and wish for those worries again...

I'm 52, i feel old because i think i should be able to do more physically for my age. I only work 2 days a week and i'm on my feet all day and i'm carrying around heavy stuff, by the time i get home i am knackered.
But i feel young because i dont think i'm very mature for age. Ive not had to run a household like other women and had experience of leaving home and being independent in that way.
My dad is 90 this year and he looks after my mum who has dementia. He's practically looking after a 3 year old in a old body.
He cooks, he gets the hoover out, he changes the bed....
And yet there are 70 year olds in an old pples home who cant do a quarter of what he does. (which will be me lol)
I really dont think you can mark old age with an age.
Its a state of mind, its about your health, its how you feel about yourself, its about life experiences, i think its about lots of things.

Mentally I feel like I did as a 20 year old with very few limitations, everything works as it should I am the same weight as I was when I was 20, mental age is the more important barometer, physical limitations play a part sure, but they can be accounted for, I am 58 by the way, but dont feel it.
