Those are funny!

A man received phone calls from his Alumni Association every three months for about five years, ostensibly checking to see that his records were up to date, and coincidentally asking if he'd like to donate to the Alumni Association. Once, when checking his records, the employee asked, "Is xxx-xxxx your current phone number?

Seeing his opportunity, he answered no, and made up a new phone number. He hasn't heard from them since.

Word Origin: Tele is Greek for 'at a distance' and phonos is Greek for 'sound' or 'voice'; combined, they create 'telephone', our word for an electronic apparatus that allows people to communicate at a distance.

Late one night, a mother caught her 5 yr old son using the telephone. She told him that it was late, and people needed to sleep.

The boy replied, "Mommy, if you dial enough numbers, you reach people that already have daylight!"

The ingenuity of children is boundless! ;-)

Fun Fact: More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call. They depend on face-to-face live-in-person communication instead. If only the rest of us could be so fortunate…
