Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner peace. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to to inner peace and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a threat to what has up to now been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.
Some signs and symptoms of inner peace:
-A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experience.
-An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
-A loss of interest in judging other people.
-A loss of interest in judging self.
-A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
-A loss of interest in conflict.
-A loss of the ability to worry (this is a very serious symptom).
-Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
-Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
-Frequent attacks of smiling.
-An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.
-An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.
Warning: If you have some or all of the above symptoms, please be advised that your condition may be so far advanced as to not be curable. If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting any of these symptoms, remain exposed at your own risk.

Just for today I will try to live through this day only, and not set far-reaching goals to try to overcome all of my problems at once. I know I can do something for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
Just for today I will try to be happy. Abraham Lincoln said, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." He was right. I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me. I will chase them out of my mind with happy thoughts.
Just for today I will adjust myself to what is. I will face reality. I will try to change those things I can change, and accept those things I cannot change.
Just for today I will try to improve my mind. I will not be a mental loafer. I will force myself to read something that requires effort, thought, and concentration.
Just for today I will exercise my human nature in three ways. I will do a good deed for somebody - without letting him or her know it (if the person should find out I did the good deed, it will not count). I will do at least two things that I know I should do but have been putting off. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.
Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk softly, act courteously, and speak ill of no one. Just for today I will not try to improve anybody except myself.
Just for today I will have a plan. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it, thereby saving myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.
Just for today I will find at least ten minutes to relax alone. During this time I will reflect on my behavior and try to get a better perspective on my life.
Just for today I will be unafraid. I will gather the courage to do what is right and take the responsibility for my own actions. I will realize that as I give to the world, the world will give back to me.

Great events, we often find,
On little things depend,
And very small beginnings
Have oft' a mighty end.
Letters joined make words,
And words to books may grow,
As flake on flake descending
Form an avalanche of snow.
A single utterance may good
Or evil thought inspire;
One little spark enkindled
May set a town on fire.
What volumes may be written
With little drops of ink!
How small a leak unnoticed
A mighty ship will sink!
A tiny insect's labor
Makes the coral strand,
And mighty seas are girdled
With grains of golden sand.
A daily penny, saved,
A fortune may begin;
A daily penny squandered,
May lead to vice and sin.
Our life is made entirely
Of moments multiplied,
As little streamlets, joining,
Form the ocean's tide.
Our hours, days, months, and years,
In small moments are given -
They constitute our time below,
Before eternity in Heaven.

A friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find, and lucky to have.
Dance as if no one were watching, sing as if no one were listening, and live every day as if it were your last.
I love you to the moon and back again.
Take time to work-
It is the price of success
Take time to think-
It is the source of power.
Take time to play-
It is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read-
It is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to be friendly-
It is the road to happiness.
Take time to dream-
It is hitching your wagon to a star.
Take time to love and be loved-
It is the privilege of the living.
Take time to laugh-
It is the music of the soul.

Isn't it strange
That princes and kings,
And clowns that caper
In sawdust rings,
And common people
Like you and me
Are builders for eternity?
Each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass,
A book of rules;
And each must make -
Ere life is flown -
A stumbling block
Or a steppingstone.

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and sharing a life, and you learn that love doesn't mean possession, and company doesn't mean security, and loneliness is universal.
And you learn that kisses aren't contracts, and presents aren't promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of a man or a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your hope on today, as the future has a way of falling apart in mid-flight, because tomorrow's ground can be too uncertain for plans, yet each step taken in a new direction creates a path toward the promise of a brighter dawn.
And you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much, so you plant your own garden, and nourish your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that love, true love, always has joys and sorrows, seems ever present, yet is never quite the same, becoming more than love and less than love, so difficult to define.
And you learn that through it all, you really can endure, that you really are strong, that you do have value, and you learn and grow, with every goodbye you learn.

There comes a time when you must stand alone.
You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.
You must be willing to make sacrifices.
You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.
Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.
There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.
Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.
Be confident enough that you won't settle for a compromise just to get by.
Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.
Don't stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight that should lead the way

BE THANKFUL
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others;
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater
and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery,
But let not this blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nuture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the Universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it it clear to you,
no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life
keep peace within your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
By Max Ehrmann
Go on your way in peace.
Be of good courage.
Hold fast to that which is good.
Render no man [or woman] evil for evil.
Strengthen the fainthearted.
Support the weak.
Help and cheer the sick.
Honor all men [and women].
Love and serve the Lord.
May the blessings of God be upon you
and remain with you forever.
