A Laughter Club Community Group
We would like to invite you to join our group! A Laughter Club is for people who understand just how serious a matter humor is to one's survival and even to one's success in life. We share jokes, riddles, short stories, and other laughter-provoking thoughts. We have one simple rule: If you wouldn't say it to a child because it contains inappropriate...
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must - but don't you quit.
Life is strange, with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Thou shalt not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.
Thou shalt not be fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to pass.
Thou shalt face each problem as it comes. You can handle only one at a time.
Thou shalt not cross bridges before you get to them, for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this.
Thou shalt not take problems to bed with you, for they make very poor bedfellows.
Thou shalt not borrow other people's problems. They can take better care of them than you can.
Thou shalt be a good listener, for only when you listen do you hear ideas different from your own. It's very hard to learn something new when you're talking.
Thou shalt not try to re-live yesterday for good or ill - it is gone. Concentrate on what is happening in your life today.
Thou shalt not become bogged down by frustration, for fully half of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive actions.
Thou shalt count thy blessings, never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one.

1. The Gift of Listening. You must really listen, though. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response, just listen.
2. The Gift of Affection. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends. Generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back, handshakes, and handholds.
3. The Gift of Laughter. Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
4. The Gift of a Written Note. It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.
5. The Gift of a Compliment. A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.
6. The Gift of a Favor. Every day, go out of your way to do something kind for someone else.
7. The Gift of Solitude. There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.
8. The Gift of a Cheerful Disposition. The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, "Hello" or "Thank You" or "You're Welcome."
Friends and family are rare jewels, indeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Show them how much you care.

A smile costs nothing, but creates much good. It enriches those who receive it without impoverishing those who give it away. It happens in a flash, but the memory of it can last forever. No one is so rich that he can get along without it. No one is too poor to feel rich when receiving it. It creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friends. It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something of no earthly good to anybody until it is given away willingly.

Your presence is a present to this world.
You are unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be just what you want it to be.
Take the days just one at a time.
Count your blessings, not just your troubles.
You will make it through whatever comes along.
Within you are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don't put limits on yourself.
So many dreams are waiting to be realized.
Life is too important to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal, your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don't take life too seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment.
Life's treasures are people...together.
Realize that it's never too late.
Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
Have health and hope and happiness.
Take time to wish upon a star.
And don't ever forget, for even a day, how very special you are.
May good things always come your way.
Keep believing in yourself.
Remember, you are so very special.

Those were all so great.
I especially liked "You musn't quit"- it spoke volumes to me in my current state.
Every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep.
At least fifteen people in this world love you.
The only reason someone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
There are at least two people in this world that would die for you.
You mean the world to someone.
Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look beside you.
Always remember the compliments you've received. Forget the rude remarks.
"My sweet child,
My sweeter child,
My sweetest child,
When you come to see Me,
I never ask you to tell Me
What others are doing wrong.
I do not ask you to tell Me
Even what you are doing wrong.
I immediately ask you to tell Me
What you are doing right,
And in how many ways
You are trying to please Me.
My sweet child,
My sweeter child,
My sweetest child,
It does not become you
To see others'
Teeming imperfections.
I am constantly dreaming
In and through you
To make you
My Eternity's
Absolutely perfect instrument.
Please fulfil My Dream,
My long-cherished Dream,
My only Dream!"

BUT, Somethin was not right.
One day, I figured it out!
What if on the day I was born, there was some cosmic mishap. You know the kind where the stars are aligned, the moon is in the seveth house of the sixth ... oh, well, you get my drift.
There mom was in a delievery room on the Planet EARTH, doing the birthing thing when all of a sudden, in another galaxy, far, far away, on the Planet ZORK, another woman was in a delivery room, doing the birthing thing.... WHEN the cosmic collision of galactic matter popped, blow a fuse and wham...
Earth Mom and Zork Mom somehow delivered the babies, but somehow they were switched.
Yes, I think that is what is wrong... I am really ZORKIAN and my EARTH sister is wandering around Zork wondering what the heck is going on as well..
Have any of you ever had a siilary feeling? LOL
The Oyster's Story
There once was an oyster
Whose story I'll tell,
Who found that some sand
Had worked under his shell.
Just one little grain
But it gave him such pain
(For oysters have feelings
That are very plain).
Now did he berate
This working of fate,
That left him in such a
Deplorable state?
Did he curse the government?
Call for an election?
Or gripe that the sea
Should have given him protection?
No! He said to himself
As he sat on the shelf,
"Since I cannot remove it,
I think I'll improve it."
Well, years passed by,
As years always do,
Till he came to his destiny,
Oyster stew!
But the small grain of sand
That had bothered him so,
Was a beautiful pearl
All richly aglow.
Now this tale has a moral,
For isn't it grand,
What an oyster can do
With a small grain of sand?
And what couldn't we do
If we'd only begin
With all of the things
That get under our skin?
