About Me
My name is Sue. I joined this site to be with those who can only know what my new life is like. To comfort and be comforted. Cry and, yes, smile and even laugh. Kevin, the youngest of my 3 children, died at 28 years old, on March 7, 2013, of a heroin overdose. My life changed forever at that moment. People who haven't lost a child do not know or cannot even fathom that, except for you all. Kevin was a kind, sensitive, caring, beautiful soul. He was a chef. He loved to cook, Do-Wop music and soccer, wrote poetry, had a contagious smile and a giggly, childish laugh. Kevin also had the disease of addiction which eventually took his life. He would never let anyone read his writings while he was alive, except for a few things, and many told of the agony of that disease and the intense longing to break free. Yet other poems talked of family and the quest to find the love of his life. Among his writings was a 67 item bucket list that was probably written 2-3 years before his death. I learned more about him through that list than I knew in all his adult years. I am blessed to have had him for those 28 years. His memorial reads "Loved more than words, Missed more than measure."

I read your post and I too felt calm while my daughter and grandkids were terrified. So surreal it was. Feeling relieved now though. And much more grateful for what I have❤ -

The weather has been beautiful and sunsets even better. I tend to feel my son's presence more with beautiful nature. Hugs and peace to you and Mahalo for thinking of me! -

It is a beautiful clear day! Still recouping from mothers day sadness, though. But I'm out and about today and just enjoying the moment. Wishing you a peaceful, blessed week.❤ Hugs -

Lots of sun here today. Trip was good but exhausting, happy to be back. Great to see my son. Missed my grandkids and dog Bella here though. Now feel I'm really ready to settle in here. Thanks for thinking about me! Hugs, Sue -
Thank you for thinking of me, Linda. Tough few weeks as it was Kevin's angelversary. Hugs to you and sending wishes of hope and peace. Sue
