Yup....it's back.
I had some three weeks of feeling so relatively normal, that I thought I was pretty much over this. It has been almost 10 years, going through all three phases. It'd been up and down and up and down, and then January of this year was a doozy (see my earlier entries). So when March came in a little rocky, and then I had a couple weeks of relatively smooth sailing...I mean having energy and feeling good, etc....I thought maybe I was over!
Then this week: started out with me feeling like I was coming down with something- tired, achy, even some sniffles, so I took Tuesday off and rested all day. Wednesday I felt REALLY good, so after doing the Farmer's Market, I had my hubby drop me off at the local stores where I spent the entire afternoon walking around (got a badly needed white hoodie and a badly needed pair of black gladiator sandals for the upcoming good weather), missed my nap, came home, made dinner, went to bed at a decent hour......then I woke up at 3. I didn't think anything of it, but it did take me a while to fall back asleep.
Thursday, I was going to go out, but instead I rested. So far, I'd gotten two of Those Waves - a term meaning a sudden feeling of stomach rolling and anxiety, common when I'm feeling menopausal- but they were very short. Friday I woke up very very tired, and in a bad mood. I should've warned the hubby, who had a day off, but I thought I could shake it off. I ended up blowing up at him and yelling...all sorts of little things that were annoying me for a while came spewing out, and I shrieked and cried.
I apologized for it later and during today. He forgave me yesterday, but today, I woke up even more tired, even more achy, and it's been progressively downhill. I tried to get a nap in, but everything above my shoulders ached too much, despite the aspirin I'd taken. The stomach/lower digestive thing is also starting again. I've announced that regarding dinner, it's an Every Man For Himself night (luckily there's pasta and meatballs leftover), have had two crying jags, and I'm now working on Acceptance.
I've been preaching Acceptance ever since someone here on this website brought up the idea: not fighting what you can't fight; just accept it and let it ride its course. So I'm NOT going to be mad about it, I'm NOT going to go on about Why Me, nor even Not Again. I'm just going to take it easy and not stress myself out. I already have a bad headache. I am NOT going to be mad about how I have coupons for 20% off my entire purchase at two stores that I badly need stuff from, good only today and tomorrow. If I miss it, I miss it.
For the record, because I'd been feeling so good, I had started slipping in doing the things I need to do to ease my menopause: no more than 2 cups of coffee a day, minimal processed sugar intake, not eating anything for less than an hour before going to bed, etc. (although, I'm still taking my supplements, and as you've just read, I'm trying to make sure that I get rest). But it seems too much of a coincidence that shortly after I started slipping in my lifestyle, I started sliding back into the clutches of the menopause monster! Lesson learned: I might still be post-menopausal, so I will be good.
Hugs and kisses to all of you!
