You're the norm.
One thing you notice on dailystrength, is that we all define ourselves by a few things which include things like name, gender, age, and cause of pain and suffering.
If you take a look around, look at peoples lives, all people, you learn something. Pain is not the exception. It's the norm.
Nothing I have ever been through makes me special. My whole life I've walked around with a chip on my shoulder and badge on my chest thinking it was me against the world. But the world is suffering too!
If you are free of all or most suffering, you are pretty special. You should sign up to every social networking site and tell everyone you can just how happy and peacefull you are because that is news! I am not one of those people. I'm like you. Life sucks. Hows the weather over there?
Support does not constitute sympathy. I enjoy it when you feed it to me. But it harms me. I enjoy feeling sorry for myself and when you validate my self-pity I feel really happy.
Oh and have you had the thought today, has it occured to you, have you noticed yet, that you exist? Just a thought.
