Yet another first
I don't know if it is a good thing or not, but I am getting down the last of my first milestones.
Today is the my first birthday alone, without my dear Paul. I remember last year, when I came home on my birthday, he had a gift waiting for me, it was a watch. Then that next weekend he took me to one of our favorite restaurants, a German restaurant in Columbus. It was a special place for us, it was very crowded, I believe because the Ohio State Buckeyes Football team had just played and won.
But like all the other first that I have gone through this year. I am getting through this one, the best I can. As everyone one on here has done and will do.

Dear Karen, I hope your birthdays will get to be happy occasions again with the help of your family and friends. It sounds like you are dealing with this difficult first as well as can be expected. Happy Birthday, Karen. Our birthdays will never be the same without our loved ones; but you are correct, we handle them the best we can. He gives the strength needed when our hearts are weary. Happy belated Karen. The firsts are hard; I try to remember what my husband always said, \"tomorrow comes\", we will get through the difficulty of today.
I\'m glad that you have made it through another one! We missed celebrating our 30th & last anniversary.He checked into the hospital that day. But it was with great hope. My birthday came just 12 days after he passed.But I was still in shock. Last year was the first Christmas without my mom. Now this will be my first T. Giving, Christmas & New Years. N.Y. was never a big on for us. I would like to just sleep through all the next ones. First & lasts. hang in! Hugs, Val
