WOW, my Mom is not right...

So my Mom calls and woke me up this morning, complaining about computer, Dad, the weather, my dads dog, then I tell her, i was just getting up, she says it must be nice, then she complains some more, I tell her we're just staying in today to watch the big game, she complains some more, then says, 'well, I don't want to talk to you any more, you're too chipper' then says hope you have a crappy day'.

WOW!  I just hung up, took a deep breathe, said a prayer for her and my Dad.  Then we stop by there several hours later, she's still complaining about everything, I just sit there in disbelief.  Wes is talking to my Dad and helping him fix his snow blower, then Mom turns to me and says I look like crap and like I'm in a bad mood, DUH!  Hard to smile Mom, when you are so negative.

But guess what? I did not let her get me down, for every complaint she had I grew stronger and will not become her.

Miss you son, but I know you have my back!  Keep sending me signs, this is gonna be a tough week.

Mum

Amazing what motivates us...I tell my kids, if I become my mom just put me \"away\" that way at least the nurses get paid to listen to my complaints. Deep breathes and enjoy your day....Stay warm....Hugs, Ann

Sounds as if it\'s her \"currency\" and way to gain attention in her life. The squeaky wheel getting the grease and you are so wise to just do your own thing and live your life with as much positive energy as you can. You cannot change her yet you can certainly learn of what you don\'t want leaking into your life.

I\'m sorry that your mom is such a downer and it feels as if she makes everything about \"her.\" Ugh... That is hard way to be and even harder to have to be around.

Here\'s to knowing that there is another way and it is what YOU are living.

Love and hugs,
XO Joanie

My thoughts...that I never become like my mother...I find some things that I do that remind myself of her and I am quick to remedy them! I was living with my mother when my son died and 12 days after, she told me to stop crying and get out and find another place to live! It remains like a dream that I had of trying to go find a room to rent and I forgive her, but will never forget.
Peace

WOW, I thought mine were bad, but then the day I found out Greg died, I was over there and I still remember how they said. \"Well why are you surprised? You knew he was on drugs\" And then my Mom took me aside and said, just think if it was Dad? Well it wasn\'t Then to have them tell me my son is not in heaven, well, I forgave them, but can\'t forget. Sending you all HUGS!

Hey there, I sound like my dad sometimes and I dislike it very much. Don\'t get me wrong I love him with every ounce of my soul. He is my first love. I always wanted to be like my mom, she was an Angel on earth and now an Angel in Heaven.

I love the way your son was whispering in your ear to ignore grandma :)

Gentle hugs of understanding, Julie. My \"mother\" was always very unkind to me and downright cruel when Eddie died. She said things to me that no one should ever say to someone who is grieving. We are stronger than they know. We have survived the worst a mom can survive and yet try and smile and be good to others and we honor our boys. Don\'t believe what others say. God loves your son and Greg is in His loving care now. Love and peace, Linda
