wow, lots of stress
I just can not get a handle on the stress. It nearly destroyed my inner self growing up. Something about living with my mom (now) just triggers it. Mom has always been a quick tempered person and hard to settle down. If kept from upset she can be pretty ok. She loves to read... like hours of it. Family members are just making things hard on her. I seem to be the only who will get up and try to adjust whatever it is that has her going. So, like a shoot and dance thing. Now that I have neuropathy, I am not dancing but will make mention that I will attend to whatever it is.
I want the people who come in contact with her to be ultra cool now. I will be telling them this and have to be careful so Mom does not think I am putting down conditions in her home. Sort of am now that I think about it. But it is really simple stuff. Like, if you have drama with your partner, dont call mom and give her the blow by blow for days. She doesnt need to hear it. Just come over and visit. Bring something to do or eat. Ask what she might want to go do. Talk about all the positive as much as possible. Let us have some peace for a change. Clean up your mess before you go even if she says not to. Do it before anyone needs to notice it being done. Ahhh. I am just exhausted trying to deal with this crap. It just adds up when you have an elderly person and middle aged woman , both with health concerns/limitations.
Venting helps. I have to learn to let things go a little more so the stress does not build. Walking and such does not seem to do it. The added adrenal gets me keyed way up. I suppose meditation and quiet may do the trick. Oh, a nice bath. Can you believe we have no bath. Well, at least we can go swimming now.
