Working things through
Hope people can forgive the rambling nature of my entries here; but I write things as they pop up in my head to say them.
Right now, it has occurred to me that I have worked a few things out mentally during my previous journal entry, and so am a tiny bit further along towards my goal to finish transitioning. Hard to measure when it is an on-going process; but the progress is there.
Two weeks post surgery, and other than stitches itching madly, I'm feeling really, really great. I quit pain meds after four days - found I was having tremors - withdrawal - every time it wore off, so I QUIT TAKING THEM. After a day, the tremors and chills were gone, so I haven't taken any more of the narcotic pain meds since!
In three days, the stitches should be taken out, and I'll meet with my OBGYN/SRS again.
And yes, I'll also set up to speak with a mental health person - one geared towards assisting the transgendered.
If I can work around the VA's (Veteran Association's) "Don't ask, don't tell" rules.
After decades of misery, feeling this happy is strange. Strange, but good.
