Woke up feeling gross
Lately lake has been sleeping in here with me every night but not last night. He is having problems with his glands again (the ones dogs have in their butt) and it's pretty nasty so I didn't want him in my bed. He keeps dragging his butt on the floor and the other day he litetally did it on my bed so I'm just like not gonna let him on it again til he stops doing that.
But man is it hard to sleep/ wake up without him. First of all I was paranoid all night and it took forever to get to sleep. Now i just woke up and don't have him to ground me so I'm all spaced out. Usually when I wake up I still feel like I'm in my dreams. Even when I don't have a necessarily bad dream they still upset me. I don't like the feeling of everything being off and unnatural. So he's been helping me get up in the mornings but not today. So yeah I am not feeling the best right now. This isn't like a huge deal I've dealt with it before I'll deal with it again. Just wanted to write it out so I could ground myself a little by becoming aware of the situation if that makes sense.

I hate picking poisons. . . Do I face the demons which are kept at bay by Persilly's continual devotion or curse the super sonic farts and fleas?
Can I go for what's behind door number 3? Nah. . . I'm not feeling lucky enough to take that gamble today.
Grumble grumble grump grouse. . . Where's my perfect life?
Sigh. . . At least getting ^it^ into words makes it easier to find solutions and/or acceptance.
Yeah I feel you there arfie. Lake is not the best roommate he wakes me up most mornings barking at my door because he hears my sister taking her dog out.
But at the same time he makes sleeping so much easier and makes me feel safer. Hoping his problem goes away because there isn't much the vet can do to fix it. And I need my buddy back at night. Barks and all.
For my philosophical nickel, the moral of the story is that life's never perfect. Gotta take it as it comes, warts and all.
Despite the super sonic farts, anal rubs, etc., I'll still take my Persilly over most of humanity, even on the days she drives me up the proverbial wall. When a thunderstorm rolls through, she attaches herself to my leg and campaigns for lap rights like a scaredy cat.
Yeah I agree with you there. I think if life was perfect it wouldn't be as fun. Being able to help lake through his bad times and him helping me through mine, well that just makes us closer.
I would chose lake over any one which feels kind of mean because i love my family and all, but I just couldn't pick any human over him. He actually likes watching storms though haha he sits at the window to see them.
I don't believe there is anything mean about my taking Persilly over human company. It really does take a village to live a full life and Persilly helps me in ways no human ever could, even on her fartiest, whiniest days. Maybe especially on her bad days. Those are the days she teaches me how to keep loving in the face of adversity.
Persilly is a BIG dog. Watching her turn into a big baby during thunderstorms is where "Priscilla" was renamed, "Persilly."
