wishing out loud......
i wish someone would arrive soon to wash my hair. the old fashioned salons of yesterday hair washing.......where they slowly massage your head.....your temples, the back of your neck.......draining all the tension out of a body in the most relaxing way. where the water temp is just perfect......not too cold, not too hot, but that perfectly perfect warm bathtub temp for luxuriating all your troubles away.
so far the doorbell is NOT ringing. wonder if my wisher has short circuited??? prolly has........i'll wish for my wisher to work again.
i have this want to get out, but no actual ooooooomph to take me there.
i should bake something to share with ruth and george. shoulda coulda wisha washa lazy daisy all day long.
it's raining......the only thing i hear is the hum of the frig and my fingers tapping on these keys. sooooo quiet. shhhhhhhh.
i haven't had a haircut since august.......how long is that. hmmm, aug/sept/oct/nov......quite a while. my dad used to tell me when i needed a cut, he would tell me i was looking shaggy or he might say i looked like a dirty ol' sheep. what ol' sheep dirt has to do with uncut hair is beyond me but that was his way of saying it was time to get the wool out of our eyes.
when my bangs get too long i comb them down straight, then take small bunches of hair, twist that little hair bunch round and round til it's nice and tight and then snip the bottom bits clean off. probably not a method taught in any beauty school ever......but it's my method. ......it's not the worst thing to ever happen to my hair......so don't let it worry you!
so sleepy........sure wish my cuddle chicken would arrive soon. like today, with the mobile hair washing person.......wouldn't that be great? rio is sneezing.......bless you good buddy! mia is nowhere to be seen, uh oh, she's a worry of a small cat. she terrorizes the house. she is currently all in on killing my blue chair. one tiny kitten claw at a time............................................she will never see all of her nine lives at this rate. that girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if my dad was still here he would relocate her to another town. at least that's what he did to ol' Humperdink. one of Dad's milk route customers couldn't keep their siamese kitten, so they pushed it into dad's arms ........cute, big blue eyes, but oh what a scratchy kitty that was. we all complained about Humperdink and yes Dad named it after that musician of the same name......but no matter how many times we all got scratched to pieces by that wild bunch of fir it fell on deaf ears. dad would have none of it. then on sunday dad was relaxing after church waiting on Sunday dinner. he's shed his sunday best for bermuda shorts and barefeet......reading the sunday paper. he had crossed his legs and the dangling foot was going back and forth in a way that is mesmerizing to a small siamese beast like 'ol hump. he pounced on Dad and laid into his big toe with those crazy claws ..........dad half hollered, "What the hell?" and send that kitty flyin'.
a couple of days later we couldn't find that kitty anywhere. we looked and searched and hunted and called until dad finally announced that it wouldn't do us one bit of good to hunt for that cat. "Why Daddy?"......"That cat, he said, "has had a permanent change of address."
"what do you mean Dad?"......well he took his own sweet time telling us what had happened but he finally did talk. He loaded that toe attacking cat into the family car and drove to dysart, iowa. nine miles away from traer. he went to a nice neighborhood of homes and let that cat out of the car. he never looked back and he said he had no regrets. we didn't like being scratched but we were all shocked. wondered if dad would ever put any of us in the family car and take us to dysart iowa to live.......???? relocate us. mercy......mother was very very very mad at daddy. for a long time.
daddy did some outrageous things......i'd like to think that 'ol Humperdink found a good family, a family that wore shoes, long sleeves/long pants and gloves that could handle 'ol hump for a lifetime. it was a long time before i realized that he would not be taking any of us to dysart.......lol. now that whole episode makes me laugh........but back then it was a shocker. my daddy was a good man but not in the case of that scratching cat. that was more than dad would put up with in his own home......
time for a nap for somebody, maybe i'll be the one!!!!!!!!! zzzzzzzzzzzz

We had a dog named after that same musician & called him Bert. Best watchdog we ever had!!! Hope that beautician makes it to your cottage soon.
Hey, I just cut my hair myself too. It happens when you are too tired to go out and have someone do it. I put it in a ponytail and cut it with my kitchen sheers. I love getting my hair washed too. They hardly ever do that anymore. Love you, girl.
Ruthie there are mobile hair stylists you could look into. They will come to your house....google mobile hair stylist in your area.
Hope you have a better weekend and can get out for a bit. Love you sweet friend
