winters first snow
It didn't really seem like a bad storm but it was heavy wet snow which caused alot of issues with the power lines.
No internet and no power. My generator has been running non stop since yesterday afternoon. I was able to get online through my cell phone which I tethered to my laptop. It's slower that way but tolerable most of the time.
The power company estimates power will be restored by tomorrow at 5 pm. Internet should be restored soon afterwards.
My poor birch trees...
Someone show me how to make the photo small. I still don't know how to do that.

That is alot of snow.
It doesn't snow here in California but it's been cold.
Oh My!!! It's 32 degrees and I'm all bundled up and my feet are still cold....wishing you a warm spot in the sun...and hoping the sun melts so you'll have less shoveling!
Bob I think to make smaller pictures you choose smaller amount of data that you send to the source you are loading pictures to the web from....for me I email pics to my computer when I send from phone to computer it allows me to choose how big in terms of size of the file I am sending.....larger like two gigs is bigger than 35K size when I get the photo on computer and then go to DS it will make the 35K photo look smaller than the 2Gig size photo.....if you do not switch it loading from phone to computer you always get same big sized pics.....if I load directly from phone into DS I do not get the choice of how big....it uses default the biggest photo size available...
@ Nutin_Special I actually thought it was a mild storm compared to most. Not very cold but with heavy wet snow that created a problem for power lines. I have a very powerful snowblower and it struggled to move the snow especially where it was built up on the end of my driveway after the town snowplow went through and made a big pile of it. I could only remove a small path at a time.

@ mlr0853 All the bad weather we get just makes us appreciate the spring and summer months more. The really cold weather probably won't get here until the end of January and last throughout febuary and march . Hopefully we will have an early spring like we did last year.
@ Bill ...I never thought of using my smartphone. I have an old Canon camera which I got on ebay years ago and I use in my business and for pretty much everything. It's the only camera I have found that does everything I need it to do but I might experiment with my smart phone since you mentioned it.

It's part of my style. I'll have to look into that for December. It snows every couple years here. Last year was just ice. It was BAAAAD. Papa even stayed the night in his truck one night because he couldn't make it home. I was scared all bad weather season last year. We can't lose another one in our family.

@ Atpeacemary I always wondered if you got more snow then we did... You get that lake effect snow and I don't live near any water like you do except for the bog behind my house.... You are also further north then me so I am pretty sure you do. I wouldn't want to have a contest to see who gets the most snow. I'm pretty sure you would win :)

@ Mid ... When I woke up this morning, power and internet had been restored to my road which came 12 hours sooner then they said it would.....God Bless them. I have visited Florida many times in the past and I loved the weather there. I might go back some day, not sure yet.

Guess I won’t complain about the inch we got in mid Michigan. Temp hovered around 28 today. I grew up on Lake Michigan and the snow accumulation was much more. Stay warm. You’re so blessed to have a generator!
