Winter Has Arrived
Burrrrrrrr! It is super cold this morning with the temp at 11 degrees. The wind is blowing and it is just a blustery day out.
Not much happening here. We are having a terrible trying to get John's number transferred from Consumer Cellular to T-Mobile. Mine transferred right away but for some reason his keeps failing. I am about ready just to cancel his old number and just go with the temporary number T-Mobile gave him. I will try one more time today and if it doesn't work I will just cancel it.
We have more snow on the way today. It is just lake effect off Lake Erie and we are supposed to get an additional inch. As long as I can stay in the house and watch it I don't care how much it snows.
Busy crocheting Christmas gifts. I have orders for three hats. I have one finished and another one started. Thank goodness they don't take long to make. Then I want to do the tea towels with the crocheted topper on it and some dish clothes for my hair dresser and my Sunday School teacher. Christmas is coming to fast!! I am just giving the kids money. They are just to hard to buy for anymore. I do need to get my little one a book for her library. We will get Bobo a big box of treats.
I want to finish decorating today. I can't do a whole lot because my house is so small. I have tons of decorations from when we lived in our other house but it was a whole bigger than this one.
I have picked out a couple cookies recipes that I hope John can eat. I want to talk to my sister in law because she has a grandchild that can't do dairy either and I know she bakes for him so I will see what she makes. We have discovered that John can not only eat beef but anything associated with it so that includes dairy products.
Well I had better go and get my day started. I hope of you stay warm today that are in the path of this artic blast. Going to be cold the rest of the week

yes nothing mammal is what John cannot eat...no squirrels not pigs nothing mammal....no dairy,....start learning how to cook fish....personally I would be extremely frustrated with the allergy he got from that lone star tic bite....so sorry....hugs bill
You remind me of my grandmother who use to crochet nice things for me and my sisters when we were kids. The best ones were mittens tied together with a string so I wouldn't lose them.

wow bob ghostly cold out there....guess your not going to go look at the super cold moon tonight....it is a super moon and called the cold moon so super cold moon.....My thermometer on front porch is more accurate than the clock thermometers as it is a different type of thermometer than an electronic one...it was showing below 20 earlier at 9 when I looked but the back porch has two clock sensors for the two atomic clocks with indoor outdoor temps and they are both up above 24....
You reminded me too of my grandmother we called Nana who crocheted Christmas snow flakes and angels for our Christmas trees,...she would spray them with starch so they were stiff when she was done with them so they did not just roll up or bend on the tree branches...Sunset you probably could start with some of them too.....they were with a white string not yarn....very beautiful I have some of the snowflakes but I am not sure if I have the angel or not....that would sit on top of the tree....
Sorry it's so cold there but glad u can stay inside and keep warm.

I'm with Bob and Bill. You remind me of my maternal grandmother, who would crochet afghans and Christmas ornaments for me and my sister. Unfortunately, she lived far away. Otherwise, I would have asked her to teach me. It's a skill I wish I had. Her handmade gifts meant a lot to me. I'd imagine the recipients of your gifts will be very happy to receive them.
My heart goes out to you and John. I learned about Alpha-gal syndrome (and tested negative for it) when I started having severe reactions to foods. One of the researchers I saw was the doctor who discovered Alpha-gal. Much like with a mast cell disorder, the toughest part is avoiding "hidden" triggers. In addition to avoiding red meat and milk products, there are non-food products that can contain Alpha-gal. I'm specifically aware of gelatin, glycerin, and magnesium stearate, but there may be others. (Magnesium stearate is an excipient in many medications, including OTC painkillers.)
It sounds super cold there. It's not that cold here, but we have about four inches of snow on the ground. I'm glad you're able to stay in the house and keep warm! Hugs.
