WILL IT NEVER END?!?!?!
Sat. night, 10-4-08: Today a collection letter, from a local hospital, came in the mail for Scott. It was very upsetting. I returned it with a note informing them of his death and a request not to send anything here again. We will see. Why, after 15 1/2 months, are they sending something? It is crazy, to me! Craig and I went to a friends house for dinner tonight. It was nice. We made strawberry daquiris (sp?) ate dinner, and even played a game. It was a nice distraction. Today was just a tidy-up the house day. I didn't get real serious about it but did manage to clean the bathrooms and vacuum. There is lots of other stuff I could've done but I just don't care that much! Tomorrow I just plan to take it easy. I have some Santa's I am painting. I began painting them last fall. They are tedious! It does take my mind off things, though. And, I really want to get them done this year. They are not ceramic, but something like that. The art teacher at school gave them to me. So, just when I think all the mail, bills, etc. are over...here they come again! Will it ever stop?

Get into your painting...it is constructive and is a good distraction. So sorry you had to get something like that for Scott...the world around us goes on...even when OUR world has been seriously altered. Love to you...Karen
I continue to get pieces of mail for Shaun; and I\'ve had to put my foot down with two bill collectors; who knew last year that he had died, without an estate - who sent the bills to collection. Well, it\'s been resolved - finally; so I can relate to responding to mail coming in for them. It\'s hard honey, I know. Glad to see you\'re gonna take a break today - you have a busy week ahead of you -
I\'m with you......and adore you, love & hugs
I\'ve experienced the same thing on the mail. We got the only doctor\'s bill we\'ve received on Weston\'s birthday this year (almost 14 months after he died). Fortunately we can just hand it over to the Air Force and they handle it. I wouldn\'t wish this journey on anyone, but I\'m so glad I\'m not alone. You Ginger, and the other mothers here have helped me keep it pretty much together. Sending you love and hugs and many thanks! Love ya, Cyn
That is upsetting getting mail. I received a letter from the DMV addressed to my Son. It said they had no reason the suspend his license and were returning it. And there was his license they took off of him that night in an envelope. Cried for 15 minutes. I guess there are clerical errors. Glad to hear your finding things to do. That is my goal. Pic something each day and at least do that if nothing else. We need the distractions. Love Joanne

I get mail & calls from the college he attended for donations. Glad to hear you are painting. I find it helpful when I get into a project I enjoy. Post a picture if you can. Love, Lucille
I understand how you feel, Hon! I have had it happen, too! At the beginning, I was proactive and contacted everyone where I knew he had a bill. We figured we had X# of $$ to work with. Some I paid in full--like a Dr that was so good to him, his cell phone, some little bills and part of his hospital bill---but then the money ran out. We did do a couple little ones ourselves, but we also got a couple creditors calling that apologized profusely when they were told. BUT, after months of Emails & calls, he is still getting catalogs, advertisements, \"junk\" mail delivered here and each time it is like a new wound!
It is so good you have something else like your Santas to concentrate on! That would be so good (but I am not artistic at all)LOL for me, too! Love, Judy
It is good to find a distraction. Painting santa sounds like fun. I make stepping stones ....just something to keep my mind occupied for a few minutes. There is always something lurking around every corner to remind me of the pain. My house is mess too. I just don\'t care anymore.
Paint relax and don\'t worry. They do end, it just takes longer than we think. Love and hugs Cathy
Carry on with you painting i am sure you must feel great when you are painting,I would love to have that special talent....
Look after yourself
It has been 4 yrs. since my son has passed and I still get those lowsy hospital bills for him. I call the Hospital up and told them that my son was gone and that I was not responsible for the bill anyway since he was of age when he was in the hospital and would they please stop sending them to me. They haven\'t as of today. I guess they don\'t really care if it hurts you to recieve them as long as they get their money. Just put them in the trash as soon as you get them, don\'t even open them it just hurts more.
