WILD DAY!

9-3-09:  On the way into school this morning the teacher that made comments, yesterday, waited for me to catch up to her.  She told me she was waiting for me.  She said, "I was pretty harsh yesterday."  I said, "Yes, you were."  She said, "I just disagree."  And I reminded her we would still have to agree to disagree and told her "we are good."  She seemed relieved.  At least, even with a different opinion, she had the courage to talk to me about it today.  I respect that.  Just the fact that she apparently went home and thought about it meant a lot.  Actually, I believe she is the first person to ever do that.  In my world, I mean. The other para in our room was absent today.  Whew!!!  Normally he deals with a very difficult student all day.  Today, I had to.  I am not used to working with this student, nor he with me.  All in all it went well but it was really a challenge!  And on top of that, we are doing base-line data.  So, I had to work with his academics, behaviors, discipline, and write it all down.  I am worn out! Tomorrow we are going on our first field trip of the year.  We take the kids to a special needs indoor pool  It is so good for them.  And, all I have to do is just sit and watch!  Of course, the journey there, on the city bus, can be interesting. Craig and I went out for dinner tonight.  That was nice.  Especially since I am so tired.  It is not a fancy place by any means.  But, it is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.  When I got home I had to take a nap, though. So, another day done.
