Why can't people just be upfront?

Well it's going on 2 weeks since my assignment ended at the time, I was working on a temp assignment and they have programs that come and go, well when my assignment ended at the time, they were waiting for another program to start up and I kept in contact with the manager and she kept stating she hadn't heard anything from the program manager. Well a week later which is this week I contacted her again and she stated that the program will be starting up Wednesday or the latest Thursday for me to start up again and today is Thursday and I have not heard anything from her. There is two other temps that was there before me and I understand they get first bids, but a least be honest with me, what's wrong with that. I don't want to keep bugging her. Well I guess everything happens for a reason, my fiance wants the house to get painted and since I'm home this is a good time to have painters at the house since I will be home.  I am trying my best to keep busy around the house, I major cleaned my master bathroom by cleaning the grout with a toothbrush and scrub brush. I feel bad that two weeks ago in the office I burnt popcorn in the microwave oven, I did take it home and did my best to clean it and remove the odor, I hope this isn't why I'm not being called back. My head starts to spin and think bad things why I wasn't called back, there is a supervisor there that so likes the other two temps and there is a weird feeling toward her when I interact with her, she seems and looks like she doesn't like me. I hate the thought of others not liking me, drives me crazy I am so giving and love everyone I work with.  Should I just let it go and pray I will get called backl I love working there, a great team of people.
