While alone
I can be all that I need to be when alone, living for those benchmarks that give yourself/ myself pleasure and reassurances for the practical. When with others I can love them but then for some reason I start to see all the faults of character in me though I try and offer my totality. I suppose I am being self critical and I should apply a similar lense that I use with myself while alone as when with others. I try and see the texture of all of us trying our best and humanity. Just writing this out is helping me calm down and make sense of the different things that I value and spark joy in my life while on my own. But I am reminded of the Mary Oliver quote:
" Love yourself, then forget it, then love the world "

You're making a balance and working with that balance to add more balance. Good work!
Thanks Mid!
Making friends with yourself is the best gift you can give both yourself and the world around you.
