Where I've been

Hello DS Friends! Frank went into the hospital on the 12th of August and is still there. I've been so tired when I get home that I've neglected getting onto DS. He called me from work on the 12th in terrible pain. I took him to the emergency room and he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. In 2002 he had e-coli and it turned systemic and he had to have his spleen, gall bladder and 75% of his pancreas removed. He was on insulin for a long time but had recently stopped checking his blood sugar and said he no longer needed insulin. That, combined with his incredibly high triglycerides brought on the pancreatitis. A few days into his hospital stay he turned jaundiced and the Dr. had to put a stint in the bile duct between his liver and pancreas. The jaundice is going away but he is still unable to eat or drink because it may upset his pancreas. He's getting fluids and nourishment through IV's. The doctor said today that he may be able to go home soon but will have to have a home health nurse to come and keep his fluid and feeding IV's going. The doctor said they are starting to have trouble with his insurance, so I guess they'd rather boot him out than ween him off the feeding IV's and let him go home without all those tubes. Anyway, I'm there about 11-12 hours a day and trying to take care of mine and his households and business. I miss you all. I love you all.
