Where God was.

Sometimes I hear people ask where was God?  when a loved one dies or a horrible accident occurs.  I thought about this today.  So I want to report, on March 15,  the day my husband's aneurysm burst, God was with him and countless people I'll never know.  You see, I just happen to have a day off work Monday when it happened, so I was home when my husband called saying he was sick.  I was able to tell him to go to the emergency room.  Now, normally, at that time of day, I would have been off shopping and wouldn't have checked my messages.  I don't carry a cell phone so my husband would not have been able to call me.  Had he called an hour later, I would have been on an appointment.  If any of this had happened, my husband may have decided to drive himself home--all 28 miles--and the aneurysm would have burst on the very busy expressway.
So on the day my husband lost consciousness due to this horrible aneurysm, God was standing there with him, making sure he was safe and God was holding my hand and making sure I was there to answer the telephone so I could tell my husband to go to the emergency room.  And God was with all those people who would have been on the expressway with my husband had none of the above happened.
On March 15, 2010 God saved the lives of so many people who may never know they were saved.
Thank you, Father.

I am with you on this thought. Amen. I have never blamed God, as hard as it has been for me/us...I just offer up my faith knowing that everything happens in his plan. I may not have liked his plan but I keep faith. I was just sitting here thinking about that when I clicked on your entry. It just reaffirmed all I believe.
Thank you for your insight.

Thank you for sharing your faith with us. I never thought of it this way, but you are right. God was there and had his hand on both of you.

You are very inspirational to me. I lost Smokey Nov. 15, 2009. I look at my life this way as God blessed me in having ten years with the love of my life. God blessed us in taking Smokey away quickly as Smokey would have wanted for himself. God blessed me by not working for over 1 years so I could spoil my beloved Smokey in the only way that I could. I cooked and looked after Smokey. He had never had anyone do that for him in his adulthood. I was there for him and that was were God was right in the middle of all this. God bless us indeed in how everything turned out. God is with me now even in the pain of my loss and sorrow. I don\'t feel him but I know He is with me in every step of my life. God bless you for writing your words.

Hi there Truhal You have been an inspiration to me. Listening to your story just reminded me of mine. I was very ill during May last year, had double pneumonia in such a bad way they had to put me on medication to keep me sedated for 7 days. Drss had no hope for me at all. I am a born again Christian, been for 25 years and had lots of people praying for me. Eventually and off course to everybody\'s relief I came through it. Before I came out of the \"coma\" God spoke to me and said \"There is nothing in live we have control over other than our salvation\" and that I should praise Him in every situation and circumstance. Little did I now what He was preparing me for. Well when Wally was operated (he also served the Lord) he had complications (septicemia). I was devastated He was operated on again the next day. Coming to, he could not really speak to me as he was on the respirator, but could hear me. I took his hand and spoke to him about the scriptures and inspirations I got while on the respirator a few moths earlier. He was very calm and peaceful and gave me a smile as if to say I have been doing that dont fret I know where I am going. He never communicated with me after that and passed away the next morning. He loved me very much and was my life, my soulmate, the wind beneath my wings and my everything for the past 39 years. I think I was the happiest person in the world and was really married to an angle. My focus now is to live passionately as he wanted me to do, keep my eyes on the Lord, and when my time is up, meet him again. Yes there are some days I wish I could just wash or scrub this pain and loneliness off me, but I cant. Take it a day at a time. Fix your eyes on Him who strengthens you. One day you cry and the next day you find some joy in it. I have some friends on DS who without knowing it, has given me some purpose in life again. Encouraging me, making me laugh and feel happy again. Without their support and love I would not have made it. I hope this is an inspiration to you. Go well and I will be praying for you. Annamarie
