when thoughts get away from you

I came home from work and had a great sense of clarity about my life. I felt

like my chest was opening to spirituality and joy of life. For some

reason I obsess a little bit and look for answers or wisdoms  from what I am going through.

The answers don't always present myself and it's like I become this mental record skipping.

I could drill down and become quite depressed but I am realizing this is what I do

and so I figure I will do some things to occupy the rest of my day. I'll go to the gym,

I will look into buying shoes for work. I will make an appointment for a haircut.

Thoughts getting away from me doesn't mean I can't set back a little bit and do the

tasks anyway. I used to not be able to do that - to look past them. I am feeling good that I can

go ahead and keep busy even so.

Mindfulness in action is poetry in motion.

thanks arfie. I am starting to feel down and worthless but I need to somehow keep in motion. It's weird. thanks for the note.

things are better. I decided to go to the gym - and that got me out and formed a new perspective.

Left wing contemplation alert:

Somewhere inside the just-a-patient interpretation of brain plasticity theories, there is allot of talk about forging new neural pathways around established but counter-productive neural pathways. When I find myself falling into my own dysfunctional thought patterns, I sometimes think of my therapy exercises as forging new neural pathways.
