when I can't manage it feels like alarm bells go off

when I can't manage my feelings well, it feels like I am in danger and alarm bells are going off

it feels like I am wrong or just totally dismayed.

so much of my time when alone is about trying to manage

and so when it goes wrong or south it just is like the cherry on top of the cake of my challenge.

I have been trying to keep busy - doing laundry and went to the animal shelter and now

I'm at home and it seems like I can't always know what to do - and it feels like I am stuck on the

railroad tracks with the train coming straight at me.

Well I just called and left a message for my therapist - she's totally cool.

Now I am writing this journal - and feel a sense of grounding.

I can't wait to get a cat. It's gonna happen soon!! (I hope!)

I don't ever let myself forget that my anxiety is hard-wired to my survival instinct. Of course alarms are going to go off when I feel out of control. It's their job. I also never forget that like the smoke alarm in my house, those alarms will go off for burnt toast as quickly as they will for a house fire. Investigate the alarm and push the reset button if it's just an over-reaction.

Rescue animals are more than just cute or whatever their drawing trait is. They are fellow survivors on a shared healing path. Heal well, my healing warriors. Hope your rescue cat enriches your life as much as my rescue dogs have enriched mine (one at a time). Anything that reconnects you to the bio-web rocks.
