What to cut
So I'm in the process of deciding what to cut from my life to improve my health. Things that absolutely cannot get cut:
Family
Church
School
What I can't cut now: Work. Maybe soon I can cut it to part-time or go on short-term disability.
So far I've cut down to one class in school.
Cut out school support activities, like PTA.
Cancel my speaking engagement for June that involves five days of travel.
So here I am, sitting in my chair thinking,"I bet if I can stay home and not work I could manage TWO classes at a time for school! *handsmack* No! I think I was born with the "overdoing it" gene. I should ask my mother if I ever knew how to crawl as a baby. Beginning to think I tried to run on day 1 as that's what I seem to do now. No, my plan will be to take it easy, recover as much as possible while doing only what I need to do, and then consider whether it's wise to take two classes.
Where's a nun with a ruler when you need one? ;)

LOL!! \"if I ever knew how to crawl as a baby\" You\'re too funny. I also like \"Where\'s a nun with a ruler when you need one?\"
Great work paring down your activities to the absolute gotta-haves!
Hey, dahlin\'
I was just reading 2097Maris\'s journal, which says she is on a waiting list at Stanford Infectious Disease Clinic where they are doing research with CFS..... One of the things they talk about is how critical it is for those of us with CFS NOT to over do and go into a crash. They are \"hypothesizing that these crashes, or episodes of heightened fatigue, may have a cumulative effect on a patient\'s health, and may compromise potential for full recovery.... \" As a result of a crash episode the \"Central Nervous System (CNS) cells are damaged and may never recover.... This may prevent the patient from fully regaining cognitive and physical capacities.\"
ewwww... I wanted you to know, Irish. xx
Thanks, jack! That\'s great information. I\'m stepping up my \"take care of me\" protocol right now. I\'ll look up that study and pass on to my doc as well. Thanks!
