What's wrong with...
...being just a hobbyist player? This is one of the things I still wrangle about that's causing havoc with my sleep pattern.
I understand fully that I'm going to want to be the best I can be once I have my AS in paralegal studies. That's just understood, it's a professionalism thing.
What I don't really understand is the mental block that I'm having with using what free time I have...like I'm going to have over the weekend as I'm all ready to go for Monday's class.
It's hard for me to explain, but it's kinda like this: Apparently, there is this...adrenaline, I guess you call it, that is running through me. I like being a competitor. I'm not a sore loser -- not by a longshot -- but often I just get lost in the premise that I want to win, and just forget that most of the point of (insert game of your choice here) is simply to have fun. I know this is getting out of hand because I actually counted how many rounds I'd lost in various games against my parents recently without winning one...it was 10 if anyone wants to know.
I think this may explain in part why I've been having problems being able to pick something up, mess around with it for 15 minutes or whatever feels appropriate, and then putting it back for a while. But...
...hmmm...erm, okay, call for help time. How do I work through that?
