What is the purpose?

I am at work. I really don't want to be but I am about three years shy of being able to retire. Today is one of those days I could tell everyone to go to hell in a handbasket. I am so tired of the pettiness and drama. I try my best to stay out of it all, but you know how things go...downhill.  My weekend was lonely even though I went to my granddaughter's softball games (6 of them) over the weekend. It just wasn't the same with out Duane. We had fun together even when were doing nothing. And then I'd get home, and he wasn't there. So all in all, I am feeling sorry for myself.

Ladybjt I know the feeling. I thought I only had 3 years left and found out in order to take my insurance with me I have to do 5 more years. It was like someone kicked me in the stomach on top of the broken heart I just lost it. The emotional instability is getting to me. Not liking the new normal at all. I just thought the drama and the egocentricalness was at my job only. I find weekends personally long and lonely with out my husband. Jim and I looked forward to even doing nothing together on the weekends. We all get to feeling sorry for ourselves at time. Take care.

Thanks so much for your reply. Today is just not a good day. I am at the three month mark and I thought I was beginning to turn a corner. But, no, today I feel like I fell down the rabbit hole again. Like you, this new normal sucks. Hugs!
