What is a warrior, 90 day reflection
In recovery for 90 days today. My mom wanted to celebrate today, and although I appreciate it, to me, day 1 was a reason to celebrate, and each day thereafter. Each day I don't place a bet, is a reason to be celebrated. Although I still have the urges, and the drama that comes with living life without gambling, each day is getting better for me. I reflect on where I was this time last year, and where I am today, physically, of course I was sitting in a casino, any long weekend was my excuse to go, emotionally I was checked out, and financially, broken. Today, I am none of the above. Financially, I'm still cleaning up the wreckage of 10 years of gambling, but its so much better. All of my bills are paid, I have groceries in the house, and money left over. I may not be "financially rich", although I should be, I don't beat myself up for that anymore. I am humbled, and I walk with a purpose. I smile more, I'm happier, and I don't live in fear. 90 days ago, that wasn't the case. There is work ahead, each day I wake up and decide not to place a bet, its work, but, its a sweet labor of love, a sweet labor of love, that I am giving to myself. That is my 90 day celebration. Make it a good day my warriors. Warrior = "a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage." xoxoxoxo
