What If. . .
The what-if scenarios are storming the ramparts this morning. As I await word on when the work on the demolition of the old building to make room for the new building will begin, the What If's just keep spinning further and further into psychotic twists and turns.
"What if" is an important part of the analytical process. Is innovation even possible without the wonder of if? Still, I donae believe it is degrading to let "I.F." be an abbreviation for "Idiot Factor." The fact that I don't know what will happen if I put Component A with Component B is an idiot factor. I willnae know if I donae try it. Let's get the if out of it and give it whirl. All idiot factors should be so easily remedied.
I have a well-established herstory of "What if. . ." psychosis. One if leads to another until I have iffed my way to being lost in netherworlds. Declaring "I.F." to be an acronym for "Idiot Factor" started, decades ago, as a reminder to monitor my Iffing psychosis. I have since decided that it works for planning, creative innovations, etc., as well. It isn't a solid plan until I've gotten the I.F. out of ^it^.
'Tis a big project which is awaiting development. Money has changed hands in good faith. It will be what it will be, whatever the I.F. of it all.

I think I prefer IF to be "in Faith" What in fatih can happen? .... But that's my newest spin. Otherwise, my What Ifs end in "and I'll touch the antimatter version of myself and the universe will return to a Big Bang state killing zillion sof lives and it'll be all my fault somehow." Wish I was exaggerating, but my head goes strange places.
Small steps and big purrs from the puma...
"In Faith" is quite pretty and certainly more positive, but perhaps a bit dangerous within my own strictly personals. When I am in psychotic I.F. mode, I can easily take it on faith that you'll ". . .touch the antimatter version of yourself and the universe will return to a Big Bang state killing zillion sof lives and it'll be all your fault somehow." Perhaps we have even met during that very leap of faith. I, too, am not exaggerating. Sigh. . .
Yup. . . Small steps and puma purrs appreciated.
Yeah, that whole definition of "faith in *what*" does get tricky. I try to take it in faith that I won't have a bad outcome, but the quantum-existential-disaster stuff sneaks in a bit too easily.
Puma support. I feel like I'm playing that Minesweeper game. I know the Bad Thing touches three things near me, but what if.... Kaboom?!
Hugs to the arfster, at a safe way and al that.
I like that you have the power to journey on "What IF's" and all. It is a very creative talent!!
I think I could take inspiration from it.
OMG "storming the ramparts" comes about as close as you can to describe the vivid dream I just had. I have no idea of where it came from, but I was in this house...bigger than all of the other houses I've ever lived in put together, but there were no walls on the ground floor...(except for heated bedroom/heated bathroom...why did I include details like that?). So bizarre, huge house (almost) all open to the outside on the ground floor. (No elevator, but a motorized hanger system (sort of like at a dry cleaners) that would carry washed clothes to the upper bedrooms.) And the firefighters were having drills at the house.
But the thing is...a HUGE storm brewing on the outside...like hurricane type of storm. For all of that...it was a good dream. Weird combination of people in the dream...but okay.
The what ifs are completely natural, I think, and what separates us from the other great apes. It's making them logical that's the hard part... Rather than "what if I touched the fire" and figuring you'll get burnt my mind goes to, "what if I make this decision" and figuring the sky will fall and the Earth will lose its orbit... And then the catastrophic consequences are all I have left to define me. Good luck. I hope the what ifs are logical for you.
I think I process the "what "ifs" fairly quickly with the here on earth experience and logic I can gather in a timely manor for getting a job at hand done. the outcome... mostly acceptable by all concerned. while both acronyms of "i.f.s." are new to me (along with the definition of acronym) I feel both are a big part of all my choices, neither can be seen or counted on... I makes my moves "in Faith" the "spirits" are guiding me, the "idiot factor" is I don't "see" or know these "spirits".
I think maybe i.f. I do my best at being positive and helpful, that is the s. that will be attracted to me. it kind of works with the people in my life too.
