What a night at work

I don;t know if everyone knows but I work as a RN in Ireland in a nursing home. I just wonder why I am still working in a field that I don't really like it's beyond me. It's not like I am afriad of change cause I have moved to Ireland when I was 47. I just think it was close to where I live and if I want to work somewhere else there will be travelling involved and I don't like driving in Ireland that well.....People drive too fast on too narrow of roads for my taste. Anyway we have this old man that is just grumpy as they come. He actually sits on the floor claiming he fell. Now this is a big man and if he fell as he claimed we would hear a big boom, we have bed rails up, but he somehow manages to get them off the bed before he falls. The last night I worked he was on the floor twice and acts just helpless, we have almost pick him off the floor...Oh my aching back...It has taking me 2 days to get my back straighten up. Thank goodness I only work 2 nights a week. I am just hoping when I get old that I don't have some of the attitude these old people. We have this one lady that always says that she just arrived yesterday, she was visiting some people and they just kept her, she has been in the nursing home for 3 years now. At first I would try to orient her using my nursing skills that I have learned, but she would just get madder, so finally I just go along with her little fantasy. I think it's the only hope she has to hold onto....Plus it keeps me sane.... I am not saying that I don't properly take care of these people, I treat them like they are a member of my own family, but sometimes you have that odd person you just can't get along with no matter how hard you try. So this grumpy old man has fell on the floor for all the nurses that work there, he even cushioned himself with clothes and pillows one time he fell. The night I was on he pulled the call bell completely off the wall. He used that alot, now he just yells when he needs help. I am so hoping he goes home before I go back to work..... I have had good news from my MRI of my tumor in my ear. It has not grown any in over a year,so I go for another MRI in a year..I might be in the 30% that the tumor never grows and I won't have to have anything done to it....Yeah....I am clinging to that hope anyway. My thyroid in under control and goiter is still there but not getting any bigger. I am still waiting for a appointment to get the cyst on my feet removed, and have of my toenail has fallen off..I think the Lamasil I am taking orally is working on the fungal toenail. Well now that I have talked about all of my medical problems, I am at a loss to talk about anything else. I have been awake since 4:30 this morning and don't want to start making alot of noise to wake Peter so I figured writing in my journal would be quite enough..For people reading this aren't you glad I did. LOL Well going for more coffee and try to figure how what I am going to with the rest of my day. Love to allCindy.
