What a Monday
I had to deal with Aaron again, I am really getting tired of having a 14 year old boss me around. Here is the email I sent the family-
This morning Aaron was better than normal, still trying to get me to “blow” up and I refused. I did give him an erector set to keep him from being “bored” which he despised. He was calling Michelle every barn yard animal there is, and she too was keeping her temper in check. He was also trying to take the jacket Roy was going to use for the day, and he also kept his cool.
After breakfast, we were playing Uno, everything was going ok, then Michelle kept switching it to red and Aaron goes-“[whatever he called her] I’m going to hit you”. When it was her turn again, and she switched it to red he punched her hard in the left shoulder area. Michelle kept her cool for the most part, Aaron would not settle down, I commented that he must feel like a man having to hit a girl to which he commented she was no girl she was [again another animal]. He then threw the Uno cards, and the game was over at which point I called Arlene. Enough said, I will discuss it no further.
What I will discuss is the fact I refuse to allow name calling, abuse or physical violence in my home. As the Bible says in a familiar passage- Joshua 24:15 (New International Version)
15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
Since I have tried all I am capable of doing with this situation, my last resort, as no one has come up with any other alternates, is to go ahead and get cable installed this weekend. It will be hooked up to one TV in the front guest bedroom and it will be completely Aaron’s anytime he is over there. No one else will be allowed to use it when he is there, including me.
Please also note this may affect the budget I have set aside to provide breakfasts and drinks for all three young ones and gas for extra trips to the school and school functions, since the bill will be $63.98 a month. (They will not tell me what the install cost will be yet.)
If anyone else has a different idea, I am listening. I however REFUSE to give up on having Aaron around. There must be something that can be done to get this under control without keeping him away from me and Michelle.Aaron is damn lucky he only did it once. We were all at the table, he was across from me and sitting on the stool, I could have slammed him into the wall behind him really quick!
