we're 'everyday heroes'
we may not be the kind of heroes that donate money and have
their names on buildings or engraved on walls
but we take care of each other - each day -
and that kind of generosity of spirit of giving - is more important to me -
and on the practical level - whether we are struggling to get out of bed - or to complete
a day's work - we muster the grit to get through it -
this too shall pass and keep on keeping on -
maybe not a grand type of hero....but an 'every day' type hero
and that's more grand to me!!

my personal affirmation of heroism happens most when i bestow the title as often as possible. when a clerk helps me untangle a bureaucratic snot knot at the credit card company, i find a way to thank them for their heroism in the line of fire. they even crossed political lines to help me out.
just getting through the day is an act of heroism. some battles is messier than others.
