We’re all pursuing our own brand of grace out there

I have been thinking about my own style and how that sustains me during the day - rather than

total indulgence or lazy ineffectiveness. I am seeing we each pursue our own brand of grace out there

everyday and it gives me some distance to now see it in others and what theirs is.

I am also hearkening back to my artistic days at GU - where I studied all different kinds of artists.

I was passionate about learning about different styles -trying to hone the basics of the different styles

like - as in - getting a sample of the basics of art -

but now I am also applying an old idea of mine to my art - and that is - combining these shapes that I have

collected over the years within my work which I naturally drew and painted - but now I am making them each strong enough

to stand on their own and yet also strong enough to somehow connect when brought together -

I used that idea in my renovations and interiors - I chose to respect the bones of a property -

and bring them up to current standards - as if they had been built in today's world and then decorating

with furniture pieces that were strong enough to stand on their own and or be mixed together -

as objects they created an alchemy for glowing and successful design!

Surviving can feel invisible and weary making but keep on keeping on.

It's great that you're thinking about your art sweetie

It might be something you could enjoy again on your time off...xo

is it time for a renewed round of nagging to get those art supplies out of the closet. in the inexplicable turns of my damaged brain, each time i have heard you speak of your art, i get images of van gough in my head.

in this go-round, it also got a don mclean song stuck in my head. thank you.

"Starry, starry night
"Paint your palette blue and gray
"Look out on a summer's day
"With eyes that know the darkness in my soul"

nagging's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
