weekly goals
Two things have been the focus of my goals this past week. My diet and career goals. My diet has been at the forefront because I have been messing it up so much that it is obvious that adjustments need to be made. Career goals for nearly the same reasons. Not that I have been messing it up but that I am not getting the results that I want. The bottom line is the same thing for both areas when I look at it. I am not getting the results that I want.
The diet needs adjustments for several reasons:I have cravings, I eat emotionally and I nibble a lot. If I get real I will have to just admit that I will give in to cravings for chocolate and sweets. I just need to change what I give in to it with. At one time I allowed myself to have sweets only if I made it. When I made it adjusted the ingredients to make it lower calorie and to make it healthier. I may need to go back to that. It may help for me to only bring in the house what is on the diet and get rid of everything else. I can make a list of things that it is okay for me to nibble on and make those thing easily accessible.
The career has been at the forefront because it is time to make some changes. I have begun applying for jobs. I found some computer classes online that I can work on during my downtime. That will help me to review and update computer skills. I will find time during the week to review resume writing, interviewing and applying techniques. Just to stay motivated I will keep applying for jobs. So that it does not become to time consuming I will only put in one application a week or maybe every other week. I am trying to better myself. I already have a job.
The other career goal is if I am going to work a second job then I want to work from home. That is one of the reasons that I have been working on my computer skills. It would hurt for me to review what I know and learn more. The software changes every so often. It can only help to go over the new software. I think I will attend a class next week at the local library too. These improvements will improve my competence and efficiency and help me to sound more knowledgeable during interviews.
Hopefully the steps that I am taking will bring a payoff. Even if things dont work out just the way that I would like for them to doesn't mean that they don't work out. Result is the ultimate goal.
