Weekend Update
Dear Fred:
Well, another week end bights the dust. This week end wasn't nearly as tearful as other have been. I am getting pretty good at just refusing to think abou what has really happened. I don't know if this is good or bad but it is the only way I can get through the days. I cannot look ahead to the future. When I do, I find I do not want a future. Maybe time will soften this. But, for now I simply cannot look ahead.
This week end also was pretty good as I had a lot of company and contact with friends & neighbors. John sprayed the thistles while Lee Ann & I had a good visit. We then went to dinner and then to Chermak's for a little birthday celebration. Tom & Molly were there as well. This was the first birthday without Nick. They all really went out of their way to make sure I was alright. I do not think I would have made it even for a month without their caring and friendship.
Today Doris came over a couple of times. She was working a split shift. We went to lunch. She went back to work. She got off work. We went and ate ice cream.
I am enjoying the new people I am getting in contact with through DS. It actually has helped a lot to hear what others think and have experienced. I do not feel as alone as I did.
Well, it is way past bed time. In just 5 hours I will be taking Kay to have her surgery on her arm/hand. zi hope it goes well.
Good night, Fred.
