Week Two

So far so good on the back-to-school transition. The gloomiest cloud on the horizon remains another maskite invasion justified by the "breakthrough cases" of the known COVID variants. Emphasis on "known." It be the nature of viruses to evolve outside the controlled environments of human laboratories. The world is a MUCH bigger laboratory and the mysteries of the unseen world of microbes are far greater than disciples of science care to admit. Actual scientists are drawn to those mysteries. Not so much for the believers who mostly want to control the world. Meet the maskites. Letting go and letting God. . . Please grant me the serenity to accept that which I cannot change.

At present, my most vicious worry loop is what will happen if the maskites shutdown the world --AGAIN! ! ! I confess that I am still too taxed by the challenge of transitioning into my second parenting career to keep up with current events on a global scale. Withdrawal from the latest undeclared war in Afghanistan? Rapidly rising national debt? Another round of civil liberties fallen to the latest government sessions? I'll get to those in between the diaper change and cleaning up the latest kid spill. Yes, socially distant maskite, I am so lucky to be a Grandma. Who will tend these orphans after I work myself to death? Certainly not the germaphobic maskites.

Breathing. . . Itsy bitsy baby steps. . . Praying my way through. . .

Again I leave the mood icon on the rapid cycling median. Got stress aches in my belly. Plying therapy tools. Just breathe. . .
