wednesday evening.
the green pencil finally turned up.........it was drafted for a big game of cat hockey. it moved from the kitchen counter to lliving behind the large glass jar of seashells by the front door. kitties...........wish they would leave a trail of tiny Christmas trees. sounds nice!
this draggedy raggedy not doing much feels like i am losing discipline within my routine. soooo i made myself do a little better. yesterday i baked two loaves of banana bread. this time i used the food processor on the walnuts. never again. i like the bigger pieces of walnuts in the bread. this buries some of the flavor. still good.........tucked one into the freezer.
today i made meatloaf, mashed potatoes and baby carrots.
sorted through mail and bills and filed things. have my absentee ballot for the Georgia Senate run off waiting to be completed. a small stack of things to tend to but not bad at all. discovered my new insurance card hiding in the stack. felt so relieved that i hadn't tossed it. i wish they would use a large bold font to tell you what is hidden within. i could use a little more help.
i cut my hand two days ago. it bled for a long time, the band aid wouldn't stick........all of a sudden i felt so alone, too alone. sometimes we all want a cuddle or a there there, it's alright sweetie.......a pat pat on the shoulder. something to ease the ache of little things.......
my two pals and i have organized two little December events. my place on the 11th, i need to figure out a menu. i ordered a scrabble game, it arrived today. so we'll enjoy a nice lunch and see if we still know how to spell! then on the 20th we plan to dress up & have a mini Christmas party. we'll swap gifts, we set a $25 limit per gift.......Ginny is in her element planning an italian menu......and a game where someone will win a zonk gift. we'll play cards and have a good time. our gatherings run from noon until five .......getting to see faces for ten hours each month really helps.
i need a haircut, a pedicure.......to go on a grocery run. i need to check the weather and make a list. not wait for the next week of rain storms.
i still haven't started working on any of the longstitch crafts. i got the embroidery hoops three weeks ago now and do nothing about it. i feel like i am self institutionalizing. not good.
my cut doesn't hurt, it's sore, but no longer throbbing. a definite improvement.
i did have a nice long chat with Christine about the funeral.......about her family, her darling Horace. She sounded so tired, which makes absolute sense.......i wish i could sit and have tea with her.
stay warm and as well as you can..........xoxoxoxo
