hey, whatcha' doin'?
i'm fiddling around. making dinner. sauteing ground beef, then add a light creamy mushroom sauce. have leftover mashed potatoes and sweet corn, plus peach jello for after.
almost out of celery, bummer......gotta go get some more.
clothes are drying, kitties are wishing tunas would drop from the sky and land HERE! debbie made the cottage look so nice. thankful for Debbie....!
have seeds germinating in two trays.....plus several pots of seeds going too. i've never really tried flower seeds.......so we'll see what happens. i'm trying to grow moss roses, sunflowers and marigolds. i also have a packet of shasta daisies.......but i ran out of energy on sunday before i ran out of seeds. i made little signs to mark the flowers, out of the seed packets pictures with tooth picks to hold 'em up. we'll see how this works out........marigolds are rumored to be fairly indestructible and they are a very sunny color, so that's why i chose them. the moss roses look delicate and so pretty and sara loves sunflowers........so i would like to grow some for her.
not sure if they will grow or what will happen. the trays are not very expensive, come with a lid to help keep the moisture involved with the little seeds.....and i got a big bag of seed dirt at the mighty wal of mart. it took me a long time to do this, cause i moves slow.......but it was good to sit in the afternoon sun and play in the dirt.
sam gave me a lot of help on sunday in addition to taxes. so glad they are done for another year! sam trimmed the ivy back....which tries to take over the trees, the fence......any plant it can. it's pretty but it's a very alpha plant. he helped me move a peony bush threatened by the ivy and another plant, no clue what it's called, but it's has big purplish leaves.......i think it gets flowers later in the season. i like it cause it's different......cool ya know?! i have all these cocoa baskets hanging on the front porch but for some reason every season these baskets have been an epic fail. WHY? it's hotter in the south and i know cocoa baskets tend to dry out very quickly. it was suggested to me that i sit the baskets in buckets of water so the water would draw up from the bottom of the pot. last longer.......i don't have any round buckets.....but i could fill the wheel barrow and sit several in there at a time? sounds like work.......so far i don't have anything in these hanging pots......but i was hoping the seeds would solve this. make flowers and the porch would be filled with pretty flowers at 20 cents a packet.........it could happen maybe maybe maybe.
ohhhh annie! i had a wooden spoon propped on a paper towel on the counter next to the sauteing meat.......and annie was up there licking the spoon! what a turkey! man.........she is such a goober. annie and rio just ate dinner an hour ago........my sweet green eyed annie is incorrigible. may have to send her to kitty reform school.
i have three dresses sitting on top of the closet door........this is my way of hoping to go to church Easter Sunday. I got a pair of low heeled pumps out......trying to decide if panty hose will or won't be a part of the day. I so rarely wear them........but my legs are beyond white.......hoping these light panty hose will make me feel more ladylike? see, here i am pretending i'll be able to go, but they say visualization helps conquer problems, so it might just work.
been invited to aunt martha's for Easter Lunch at 1.......good food and the annual easter egg hunt. sam said he'd love to go......but he's not sure about church, he has a dart tourney the night before.....which runs late. i hope he will go, but i know this is his polite way of saying no......still i told him i hope to have him join me..........a mom can still hope!
i filled 72 plastic eggs with candy for kids at church. gave them to Debbie on monday to take to the women's meeting. they collect the filled eggs, the easter egg hunt is saturday at noon......these kids have so little......the easter eggs make this holiday extra special.....i wish you could have seen the youngsters carrying palm fronds down the church aisle last sunday. the sunday sermon for kids is my favorite part of church.......the kids say the funniest and smartest things! love kids!
time for me to go. love you........hope to hear from you about easter plans and life plans...........big fat squishy hugs on the way!

Aw, it was nice of you to make Easter bags for the kids. Your food sounds great, as always. Going to my brother's for Easter. He is making steak. Yay! Much love.
Hi Ruthie! Sounds like a plan with your pretty dresses lined up and waiting to see which one gets chosen. Sounds like a nice Easter Day planned. We may go to the Market Street Cafe in Celebration for bunch. Invited the kids. I had k all day today. Poor kiddo keeps getting sick. She has missed allot of days this school year. Her Mom is meeting with the principal tomorrow to discuss her missed days. There's a chance she could get held back.
I'm counting the days until I leave for Pa. (3 more weeks!)
Wishing you a blessed Easter. Love you sweet lady. ❤️
How did you ever fill 72 eggs? That's a lot of stuff! Sounds like you're feeling a little better. You're up and about, at least. Tell your kitties hello from me!
Hug hug!
It's always so much fun playing in the dirt. It's therapy for me.
Going to pick out my vegetable for the garden this year.
It's my momma and I birthday this weekend. Gardening is how we are going to celebrate.
Hope you have a great Easter!
I want your mushroomy hamburger dinner! Please send some by FedEx. LOL. That is my favorite kind of comfort food - hamburger and mashed potato concoctions. Annie and I are on the same wavelength - if I was there I would want to lick the spoon too. I hope you have success with your seeds - I do not have a green thumb at all. I really love Shasta Daisies - such a cheerful flower. I'm glad you were able to make it to church on Palm Sunday, and perhaps you will make it for Easter, too. I am not able to go with any regularity, but I have many fond memories of the whole church marching around the building with the palms at the start of the service. I know you made a lot of kids happy with the easter eggs!
Hello Serce, I think your flower seeds are going to become pretty flowers. My two kitties do that with the cooking/stirring spoon too!
No Easter plans here, though the lodge across our street has a Easter Egg hunt for the little ones. They were cute out there hunting eggs! Will take a walk with Mr Fritz and maybe a starbucks frappe.
Much love and hugs and greenies ♥
