we each make

It’s striking me that in life we all create the playpen in which we live or the prison depending how you look at it.

Now that I'm thinking with this light, I'm more curious about how others manage their lives and what they're all about.

I know the nuns each have their boundaries and their particular histories and management and sides.

I'm starting to think about what I know I want in my life. I can coach myself and set my own expectations by knowing that it may not come right away but I'll make it happen eventually. There will be good things along the way though. Not total deprivation, until that time...The dark rainy day, and gruff behavior of some of the nuns, inspired me to reach beyond staring out the rain splashed windows forlorn and seek what life is all about.

I'm grateful for what I do have, but I am just more insightful

about the Abbess' monastery and how things work and questioning my own choices as well.

I suppose you could say, I have made my decision to come to a monastery to seek out a life in which I could live
as a result of having this mental/emotional handicap. I am realizing though, that I have additional powers to
provide for my life, not just in the super pragmatic sense. My illness does not mean I have to shut down into
the barest of survival modes. I know I can have things I want in it too...for the immediate future as well as
the long term. I can make goals and coach myself and get there, and be dynamic to change when opportunities change.
I'm tryin' :) keep on keepin' on. I aiming that work at the new market or perhaps somewhere else will be
productive for financial resources as well as opportunities for life experiences.

all this questionarius is not helping me...as my little sister said to me "Mark, you always take care of yourself no matter what"
she's right! I needed to come back to the room tonight before small compline and I will spend the evening having
some fun.

Have you talked to the market about working for them yet?. How long do you plan to live at the monastery? What are you doing in your free time? Nosy here. LOL

Nosey Nellie! 8-) I go back to work on November 6. It’s all arranged at a market in the next town over. I’m planning to be here for at least 6 months to a year!
In my free time there’s usually some work the sisters need help with and then I also I like to keep Blue company as much as I can. I listen to the radio in my room and surf the net. I’ve also started to frequent this Irish pub nearby too.
