We don't exist

According to a mutual friend, our ES says we don't exist any longer and he doesn't want to be notified when something happens to us.  I think he will regret those words.  When will he grow up if ever?  He is acting like an immature teenager who is running after his GF and doing all he can to make her happy.  I do believe one day he will need us and will come to us.  We will welcome him as the Prodigal even though I felt so much pain and sorrow.  Our GC have been told they won't be seeing us since their "new family" is better for them.  GF has lots of family.  I have no comprehension why adult children feel they can and should treat us like this.  This whole thing is such a mess.  Some times I feel like I can't function since the depression gets the best of me.  Other days I can make it through most of the day feeling quite well and hardly think of them.  For me, it's important to stay very busy and not give my brain time to think.

That\'s the key: stay very busy and not give our brains time to think.

I\'m guessing your ES will soon grow weary of the lifestyle with his \"new\" family. Hang in there. While my ES took 7 years to reconnect with us, that time gave my DH and me time to let go of the feelings of sadness and know he and I are first in each other\'s lives now. And while my ES and DIL seem to have a strong marriage, DIL definitely is in control so our ES is moving slowly.

When the estrangement started, I would never have believed I would feel this way today. My ES was the most important person in my life. Well, my DH and other son were important too, but they hadn\'t treated me so badly so I just took their love for granted. Now I don\'t take anyone\'s love for granted.

Thank you so much for the care, support and showing me how God can make parts of our lives even better. My DH and I are very close but even more so now and I think our love will even grow stronger as time passes God bless

Whyonly, that is so sad, but don\'t feel alone. I\'m in that same situation and just from reading this morning, it appears many of us are facing that same thing.

Just remember that in the end, it\'s THEIR loss. I just can\'t even fathom what a lonely life I\'d have had if I\'d have thrown my own parents away like these younger people have been doing. IMHO they have no conscience.
